din test the custom. the one i tested was the red LP. forgot which model exactly. i think they changed all the strings cos the LP i tested had brand new strings smile.gif

The Yamaha stack was cool man.. my fren was the first one to test the guitar since he was shopping for one, he was playing on the Lead channel at first. then he wanted to switch to clean.. so, he pressed the Clean button on the head.. then suddenly, the master volume knob start turning by itself like it was possessed. laugh.gif the volume was so loud, the stack sounded like the big signal horns in LOTR. i was in the keyboard room at that time. when i went out of the room, my fren was having a moderate panic attack. he was turning the dials to 0 damn quick laugh.gif another fren of mine acted quickly by turning off the head. hahaha. damn funny. after that only we knew that the head had presets and all.. such noobs  shakehead.gif .
shortly after that, the chinese guy came n explained to us. we were all like..  OOoooooOoOoo.. had a good laugh laugh.gif
i guess they can put like a candid camera for that amp. n see what ppl(who dont know the amp) do biggrin.gif
*
ahahahaha
the lp there were pretty cool
MIC tho, and the tops weren't 1/4" maple caps i think =/
either a lousy veneer or photoflames tongue.gif but im too noob the differentiate

the amp tho sounded really.... well.... solidstate =/
i panicked awhile when i switched the channels
but i managed to save my face by turning the guitar volume knob down, but the buzzing noise was still apparent
Lol.
then i snapped the LP customs strings =/ malu betul...
then went into the acoustic guitar room
they had a yamaha compass, a really beautiful cream coloured maple acoustic
and tested a laney acoustic amp with a really really really nice acoustic guitar
forgotten the model tho

Wear those scares and dents with pride boys. The first one will always hurt but after that, you don't really care anymore.

nooo this time i want a les paul.
any les paul with a 60s neck.

the SGs coming out from gibson now are pure crap.
the good ones are usually guitar center/musicians friend specials.
*
nice
lespaul with 60's neck eh
i've yet to play with proper lespaul neck dimensions [sadly]

cuz lespaul classics supposed to have a 60's slim taper neck
but i played with the newer [2005 MIC] lespaul classics it feels exactly like a 50's neck
cuz its really rounded and fat .... lol

but my lp classic [2001 MIK] has a really slim neck =/

so im guessing epi really tembak the neck dimensions only -.-ll

i was actually talking about gibson tongue.gif
the epiphone LP necks are nowhere near as thick as a 50s gibson LP neck.
as for slim necks, the most comfortable neck would be the '61 reissue gibson SG tongue.gif
*
damn u rich arse!!!
i swear i will own a gibson [maybe a few laugh.gif] lps when im filthy rich next time laugh.gif

one can dream cant they?

isnt gibson necks standardised to 50s n 60s? different yrs have varied version so of those 2 necks?

Ernie Ball power slinkys 11-48, regular slinkys 10-46 or hybrid slinkys 9-46.
depending on which guitar.
what i wanna try next is ernie ball's skinny top heavy bottom 10-52 to replace the 11-48...
*
omg where do u find the .11's ??? havent had any luck with .11 slinkys just cant find them!!

QUOTE(noisetrigger @ Jul 18 2006, 08:23 PM)
You are way off here dude, Kirk is far from being my favourite guitarists. I give credit where it's due and he is good at what he does.

I see you prefer to measure how good a guitarist is based on technical ability and theory. Good for you.

I prefer to take a look at the whole package. Take Hendrix for example, he might not be the most technically gifted guitarists out there but one cannot deny the fact that his music touched many. (Hendrix ain't my favourite player either)

Same with Kirk and countless others guitarist you might not think is good according to your definition(Slash, Angus, ZW)

It is the mark they left that truly make them a great guitarist.

My favourite guitarist as of now are Alexi Laiho, hide, Takuro, Hisashi, Slash, Izzy, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, and I like them because of how their music has touched me emotionally.

It is good to be a bit more open minded about music. See less on who can play faster, or play more progression, or who can play the cleanest.

At the end of the day, music is about emotion and it is how the music touched you emotionally that counts.
*
hide hide hide hide hide hide hide hide hide hide hide !!!!!!!!!!!
and i agree with you.... its the mark n memory they left in you that makes them an awesome guitarist! not just technical ability
