Haven't really tested beyong fooling around with the manual settings and firing off 1-2 shots.
Still, the pics came out good and clear/crisp.
Coming from the 808, the 1520 phone strength far outweighs any camera specific performance of the 808. It is a different class/segment of phone afterall.
*
Surprised to hear that :-)
I upgraded from 808 to 1020 and feel the same too except that 808PV has better color and WB.
Having said that, does your 1520 gives any yellow tint in indoor artificial lighting conditions?

Morning,

Was wondering if its a norm if the phone heats up very fast when you're constantly on whatsapp chat and playing with the camera. My phone seems to heat up very fast, wonder if its an issue with my unit.

Heating problem of 1020.

Hi there, for those who are fortunate to have the 1520, can I ask if this model has heating problem just like 1020 ?

The reason I asked is that, some suspected the heating is due to windows 8 software looping which make it does intensive software running which greatly cause heating and battery drain. Not sure if it happen in this model. If software is the issue, then 1520 should have the same problem too, unless windows 8.1 sort out the problem.

Just curious.

Buy from directd also can claim warranty from Nokia service center.

Bought three phones using postage from directd. All 3 reached my doorstep on the next day. Efficient and trustworthy.

Few new observations after 3 days use and comparing to 1020:

1. Yellow tint and saturation is less with Nokia Black. But in few instances, the same yellow tint still appear unpredictably. White balance more towards the Auto cool side (matching real white despite lighting conditions) rather than the slant towards actual lighting color like warm light with bulb in 1020.

2. Whatever new daylight pixel level backlighting Nokia brag about in 1520, it doesn't works well in real outdoor lighting. The screen turn into over contrasted bright bands to show detail on screen. Colors just off and weird, hard to explain this inconsistency, you need to test it with 1520 in bright sunlight. Maybe sunlight in Finland is very different than Malaysia haha.

3. After extensive camera use, the startup speed is actually noticeable faster than 1020 when I go back and use 1020. Not much different but noticeable, not aware when first day use.

4. Daylight and good lighting camera performance is comparable to 1020 with less details but low light performance and high ISO cannot touch 1020, not even close, muddy like all those other smart phones out there. Probably due to the big sensor size difference.

5. Its hotter than 1020 in similar usage condition with a wider areas of heat at the back. Especially using GPS, the top left corner is uncomfortably hotter and it drain battery faster than my car can charge LOL. But overall it does lasts half day longer for me in same usage pattern due to the bigger capacity.

6. The best and smarter way to do ClearBlack is still AMOLED smile.gif

That's all for now.
