I only have 7 investment funds, if wanna include CMF and my bond fund holding as emergency reserve, only 9 funds. Unker Looi...14... sweat.gif doh.gif

Am thinking whether it's time to include EI GLOBAL EMERGING MARKETS FUND in my portfolio. Either that, or continue expanding my US+Europe exposure first.

Unker Looi, mind if I ask why when you started investing you didn't think of putting in EPF? Now 2nd year only starting to show sign of improvement. Missed out on 6%

Agree with the above comments. Waiting for dip myself. Today Hang Seng and IDX closing red. But not red enough. When time for top up must whack harder, if not cannot utilize my "planned investment fund" for this year.

How hard I whack has no effect on the market. The market dip and I whack. If it dips.. So you should pray it doesn't dip.. smile.gif

Slowly, bro. We can only wait for opportunity. No point topping up for the sake of increasing equity exposure. Make your remaining increase % in equity worth.

hmm.gif i think it depends on ...here are some of it
1) how you set up yr portfolio
  eg;
a) 90:10 or 10:90 FI:EQ ratio do make a different
          b) Eq funds consisted of Big caps or small caps stocks
          c) Local or foreign
          d) dividend seeking or growth funds
          e) diversified or heavy on 1 country
          f)  etc....
2) sometimes the timing....bought at high....just before mkt dropped...then hv to wait for the mkt to go up again
3) sometimes missed the bull upswing boat

if can take the "heat" go for local small caps funds  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

i guess what pink just posted "aim 10%+/- would be realistic" is justified
*
Instead of local small caps fund, I would prefer to handpick myself and invest directly. Holding a few small cap myself, doing really well (to-date of course).

I didn't really calculate my 2013 profit calculation. Roughly yield around 6%.

EI GEM fund has 21.80% in China/HK. Any idea how much in Shanghai, how much in HSI?

South Korea doing well so far?

Pink gor macam give me confident to go in. U still holding EI GEM fund?

What's the main difference between EI small capital and EI GEM anyway?

Holding.

My equity funds 60/40 FI funds

Inside the 60, 33.8% in EIGEM.

So, effectively 20.28% of my FSM portfolio. tongue.gif

Quite large holding in China stocks.

Harlow...EI small cap is Malaysia fund lar!
*
I never read about EI funds. Haha! Paiseh.

My initial intention was to increase US and Europe exposure. Currently only 22%, HK (from HSAO, HSAO, GEYF and PGSF- all I believe is from HK, no China) only 18%.

If I include EI GEM fund in my portfolio, I will be very heavy in China/HK and I have to take a longer period to increase my US+Europe.

My topping up pattern...e.g. RM100 into RHB-OSK GEYS AND RM100 into EIGEM

Over (some) time...my portfolio would be roughly 40% developed 60% GEM wink.gif
*
I headache to think that if I include EI GEM fund in my portfolio, how to segregate the geographical exposure for the pie chart.

Pink, share how you segregate yours?

Mine is - Malaysia, Singapore, Indo, Pholippines, China/HK, Taiwan, Japan, Thai, Aussie, Korea, USA and Europe. EI GEM fund got those Russia, Mexico, South Afrika, Hungary, Turkey, Poland.. Czech.. How lar..

SEA is Southeast Asia other than M'sia and Singapore
BRI & Other EMs - Brazil, Russia, India and other Emerging Markets, basically all European countries that EIGEM invest in I consider as EM
*
My guess is your Developed Europe is mostly from your RHB-OSK GEYF? Why split Japan from SEA-others?

Latest news:

Russian order military exercise of grand size with 150,000 troops around their west border nearing Crimea, Ukraine in sharp warning of potential war intervention...us john Kerry warns Russia aggressively any military invasion on Ukraine land would be a grave mistake.... Thank god I sell 67% of my global titans fund yesterday... Potential war tension would ruin European stock market....it is indeed a volatile month and we should be cautious of the development...

Wah. I just bought EI GEM yesterday.
