Sculptor may have toned it down a size or two in certain areas, but I love the way he did the face...Original looks a bit moody, but the pvc has a more mischievous look to it... wub.gif

when they announced her figure based of this illustration, i really did now know what to expect because the illustration had all those colors on it shocking.gif now that you mentioned it though, the face does look better on the sculpt than the drawing

Not often that illustration-based pvc turn out better than the source...Surprised to find out that I actually own something sculpted by this dude...

Same dude huh. He does good jobs, just that, Sakuya wasnt unique to me in anyway, maybe except the sword - the amount of detail is the same as most 1/8 figures. She's just a regular figure blown up in size, which explains the rather reasonable 12k yen RRP despite her size.

Probably explains the drastic drop in price after release,too...But yeah,he does good jobs...The Rouna is one of my faves...Also kinda proves the sculptor isn't against full-bodied figures... biggrin.gif

You can go and have a close look at her mouth, and then have a look at the illustration. The feeling will be much different just because of that tiny little difference. It looks to me like she's got a punch in her mouth and all her tooth dropped. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I wasnt happy with her photos though, to be honest; the special effects might have made up for it a bit.

A bit off topic but there's a hot topic now on the news about a cosplayer Rape and killed a 15 years old girl. Will it affect what other people think about collectors like us? blink.gif

In my opinion, the fact that he is a cosplayer should not matter...Rape is rape...What the rapist does for a living or what his hobbies are does not make the crime any more or less serious...Those who think otherwise are just close-minded fools...A real shame what happened to the girl...I wonder if she was a cosplayer too, since she was helping him make costumes...

Lol, if you're worried about what people think about you, collecting figures is the very least of your problem.
And it don't change how people perceive us, they think how they like, its their right and none of us can change that

He killed her before he could even rape (the victim resisted).
cosplay or not, it will damage the reputation of anime itself in someway because of uninformed ppl who likes to stereotype.

I just hate how the Chinese newspapers keep emphasizing on the words "anime" in their news, as if they are trying to send a message it's a bad influence. The star wasnt that bad, still okay. As a Chinese who is capable of reading Chinese, to be honest, i have boycotted their papers for years because of unethical methods to gain attention. Rather often you see their papers highlight bad news (accidents, suicide, murder, bla bla) on the front page, with big red words, or even decorate the words with blood splashes to attract attention - when for that same day, other newspapers have nation/gov/politics news on the front page. They are making use of something bad that happened to others to attract attention towards their products.

Kinda off topic, yes, but it will also impact the way ppl think about us who collect anime figures. Anime figures, not warcraft figures or others, thx to some Chinese news keep emphasizing on the word "anime". I already have ppl spread all kinds of rumors about me in campus judging from my FB & hobbies - that said, unlike those colleges in KL, im in some uni in south Kedah with a lot of bookworm retards (medic students) who knows nothing outside their own field of studies. Still 'Katak di Bawah Tempurung' despite being medic students. This kind of thing happening doesnt help either.

its like chinese papers have nothing else to highlight, apart from murders and other negative activities.
its distasteful, even english papers. Cut off my subscriptions to all sort of mainstream media years ago.

That's what I wanna point out, the chinese papers keep on highlighting the word 'anime' like that guy do all this is because of anime influence.... unsure.gif
