Hmm, true also. But, to a certain extent the prices are slightly inflated due to SP bearing all the costs, including DIBS.
If today Budget change the landscape, then maybe buyers will have some sort of a rebate.

2015, everyone is going to be saying Plavia so cheap when you bought, just 800k, now going for RM1.2m.

So far, nothing yet. This time, budget will be targeting the lower income ppl. Those with household income of RM3000 - 5000.
But, I hope they will implement:

1) GST effectively
2) Recalibrate the Personal Income Tax assessment
3) Exemption on essential items - EPF; Raised to RM9,000; Medical / Life Insurance raised to RM6,000
4) Mobile / Notebook / Tablet Relief to be combined and cap of 3 years to be removed


We have roughly, 20 million people under either salary employed or income earners, of which, only 10% = 2million people pays income tax resulting in leakages - proper implementation of GST will allow the country to collect the tax income effectively and relief those proper tax payers in other ways. Really hoping for adjustments in relief & rebates as well as Personal Income Tax.

Will be good to have the rebate for another 2 years to boost the hybrid car market.
But, I am looking at the 2014 Mazda 3 hatchback. Quite nice.
But, currently, there is no indicative price for the Pug is it? Should the tax exemption remain, whats your take on pricing; close to current Pug 508 Premium or lower or higher?

Yeah, exactly, GST will only work if the personal income tax is reduced similar to Singapore structure; they got GST about 7% and moderate income tax from 15%-20%.

And, now that, the account 1 basic savings threshold has been increased, meaning reduced excess for EPF-Linked investment, EPF tax exemption should be increased as contributors are now unable to increase the wealth through the dormant account 1 apart from the annual dividend.

The notebook - not much impact but tech is ever changing so, the 3 years should be reduced to 2 years or 1 year, means every alternate year, taxpayers can claim notebook / phone / tablet. 2 years is a acceptable residual life tenure for these items.

Hybrid car tax exemption, hopefully will be continued, then we can look forward to the hybrid diesel pug. But, hands down the 508 is one the leading cars in its segment.

Also, expect RPGT to go up quite significantly, especially, for props sold within 3 years of acquisition.

Yeah, among all the Japs, I like Nissan - GTR / Fairlady, Mazda - RX / 3 / 6 and Mitsubishi Lancer.
City is just a daily driver.
Cant afford GTR / Fairlady on salaried employment.

DIBS will be abolished for new launches, existing launches should not be affected; should it affect our purchase, some sort of rebate will be given to compensate the loss in DIBS.

Should be around 4-ish bro; lepas sembahyang Jumaat, dapat restu, nanti bersidanglah. But, very brief usually, they only debate the key points.
Should be another sucky one - but with GST and Prop market cooling measures to be implemented; interesting to see what sort of incentives will be offered for working class citizens.
