bro.. it is not about 0.5% of FD value that matters..

it is the processing..

lets say i want to pledge for PBB VS.. minimum is 35k..

so in order to get this card to FD pledge.. i need to pledge 35k.. let's say i pledge 40k for easy counting.

So the stamp duty for the 40k pledge will be 5% of the value.

40k x 5% = RM200

means i need to pay rm200, in order to pledge 40k FD to get the PBB VS with a 40k credit limit.

Other bank is RM10.. while PBB use 5% on the credit limit applied for..
*
Ya I know what you meant. I also don't understand why PBB stamping is so expensive , compared to MBB CIMB etc RM10. Can only say this, double standard ! rclxub.gif

so does that mean I can just pledge RM2k FD just to get the  card for 2k CL? after all this card is only good for first RM1k spend.  biggrin.gif
*
Maybe in the near future. I somehow recalled back in the late 90s it is not possible to pledge 5k for a CC. The minimum was then 50k and since then , this figure drops significantly. One day maybe it will be 2k. drool.gif

Sweat. Not sure which credit card to go for =`(

Any suggestion on what sort of card should I go for beginners LOL

Your 1st try will be MBB 2 Cards. As you use this card, you will explore other cards which offer better rewards based on your spending pattern. Generally, you will find MBB 2 cards a good start.

I was apply the visa infinite, but ended up received wise gold card, what can I do for it? I think is the sales staff help me to change it without my consent and never ask me which categories I want, from the 1st day I send my documents, until I received call from the branch to ask me collect the card only I know that my card is approved, any idea? Can I lodge a complaint to the bank?
*
One possibility is that your VI application is not successful and they downgraded your application to Visa Wise rclxub.gif

Otherwise, they have made a mistake.

Aiyer... that means you need to put in FD forever until you terminate that card. Not worth.
*
As long as you can submit your income documents to them, they will consider release your FD

I was then told that even with FD pledge, if you are earning less than 36k on papers, you can't get more than 2 cards laugh.gif

How true is that statement? I vaguely recalled someone mentioning that Credit cards secured via "FD Pledge" would not be considered in the 2 cards limit.

hmm.gif
*
It is very clear, earn below 36k you are limited to 2 issuer only . FD secured cards are no exception.

Ah.

Because previously someone mentioned differently.

Can't remember who it is thou.

Based on BNM rule however, if below 36k can't get more than 2 issuer + limit can't be x2 of gross salary.

But if a person pledged 20k FD for a VS, won't that be a breach of the rule?

In fact, if a person don't have 36k per annum of fixed income but have let's say 100k in cash due to inheritance or stg, does that mean that the person could not get more than 2 cards as well? laugh.gif

Just crossed my mind and finally remembered to ask.
*
But you have to understand that on a credit card secured by pledge FD , there is basically no lending . The bank does not lend you any money unlike credit cards applied under normal circumstances. That 2x gross salary limit is what the banks lends you. So if you pledge 20k FD and get a 20k CL , how much 'line of credit' is there? Nil. Let's assume the salary is RM900 and he pledge RM5000 for his credit card. He got a CL of RM5000. BNM ruling is the limit will be 2x gross salary which is RM900*2 = RM 1800. That's mean for his pledge of RM5000, he could have a max. CL of RM5000 + RM1800 = RM6800 with the bank.

I have no principle credit card now, and my DSR is most likely around 200% now, that mean I will be rejected if I apply for a card.

So is there any other ways I can get a card approve? Put FD in the issuer bank? Any bank offer this?
*
If you meet the income requirement and your CCRIS is clean, I am sure the banks will approve your application provided you pledge FD. However if you make a straightforward application, 100% unsuccessful!

How about FD pledging for foreigners? mean they can have the cc also as long as the pledge is on?

You need to have a work permit or PR to qualify. If not, you won't get to apply.

can we reject if retailer still using old swiping machine?

Talking about reject, the merchant would reject more than we do because using this swipe will only get a transaction posted after 10 days minimum. In 2012 I do have one trnx swiped this way in Saudi and it takes 30 days to get posted!

I know what Merchant Category Code (MCC) is.

But, what is actually POSMODE 81? What is the difference between MCC and POSMODE 81?

Thank you for the information. smile.gif
*
On a card trnx, Posmode identifies how a trnx is process eg normal swipe, mail order, telephone order or online trnx. Posmode 81 is identified as an online payment. MCC itself identifies the nature of business the merchant are doing.
