Oh.. i see.. so thats what balance transfer is about

so what you suggest is just pay off my CC debt in cash ya?

sorry.. i actually not quite clear oso abt this balance transfer, balance transfer..
dont have a single clue..

thanks for your kind opinion notworthy.gif
*
if you plan not to use any cc anymore, then just pay off your cc debt in cash.
if you do balance transfer, you are just transferring your debt from bank a to bank b.
meaning that you will still be using a cc (just that the cc is now from bank b rather than bank a).

if let's say i want to pay off my total cc debt in cash
and short in cash, is there any other alternative?

whats use of balance transfer if in the end i end up with another credit card?
i just don't understand rclxub.gif
*
if you are short of cash to clear off the debt, you may apply for cc installment plan from the same bank. something like this: https://www.hsbc.com.my/1/PA_ES_Content_Mgm...rds/fpp_tnc.pdf

the benefit of balance transfer is:
- let's say you have a debt of rm1.2k with bank a.
- if you don't settle the debt within 20 days of interest-free period, then they will start charging you with interest usually 1.5% monthly (9% half-yearly; 18% annually).
- if you transfer the debt to another cc (bank b), then maybe you get 0% interest free for 6 months installment from bank b.
- so you just need to pay rm200 monthly (in 6 months time) to bank b instead of one-shot rm1.2k (in 20 days time) to bank a.

For credit card application, after submitting the application forms (applied at booth), is it a must for the bank to make verification call to the applicant before proceeding with the application?
*
yes, normally they have this practice.

this month i have an outstanding balance rm5k++... if i pay minimum rm1k and balance left 4k.. what is the interest charges for next month? (assuming it wont affect my CCRIS report)?
*
first, you need to know what is your cc interest rate. commonly it's 18% pa. but different cc banks have different interest rates in which usually lower than 18%.
if you know the interest rate, then you may calculate yourself here: http://www.citibank.com.my/english/docs/us...-calculator.htm

is it safe to do so? tq
*
it's actually can be said safe. but i don't trust the staff(s) who handle the form. it's better just book yourself from agoda.

I also very worried sweat.gif  But lucky CC was not being fraud. But few years later after that i cancel that card due to other reason. laugh.gif
*
yes, usually it can be trusted. but it still depends on the staff who will be handling your form. nod.gif

Just started working on january 2014. Salary 1.5k + fixed allowance 500. Now waiting for 2nd payslip (salary jan being paid on feb's payslip).

Already applied with cimb but rejected dont knw why. Any other banks i should try? Epf not update yet so cannot give them to support. For now only got payslip and bank statement. Should i wait til 3 payslips?
*
most probably rejected because don't have 3 months payslips. perhaps you need to wait til you have 3 months payslips before attempting to apply again.

Upgrade your OCBC Titanium to their Worldmaster whereby you can enjoy their 2% cashback instead of the usual 1%. Also, I think there's a cap a month and is definitely lower than RM300 - hence check out their caps. Might be good to use MBB cards to gain the points though and double points on weekends or something (sorry, not a MBB card holder hence not really sure on MBB)

2% or 1.2%?

they will block your card and chase the money from you. when you are unable to pay, you will be blacklisted and unable to apply any loan with any banks anymore.
