thanks for the reply, i think if need pay extra rm78 than normal price, then it still is managable, when ppl said the interest rate is ridiculous, what i imagine is like..rm2000 total will be like rm3000...again, thx for the englightment
*
18% p.a is equals to 1.5% monthly interest.
rm2,000 become rm3,000 means 50% interest.
that would be loan shark interest! laugh.gif

yes, both stanchart and ocbc are using MBF pay service, so both can use cc to pay cukai tanah and pintu

Don't know which state you at but in Selangor one can use Visa or MasterCard to pay for quit rent.
*
oh i see... so how to do it? pay via the counter of ptg? and/or via online?

in previous years i paid my assessment bills via counters at mbmb and mbsa with cc.
but for quit rent, i checked the back of the paper statement doesn't state that payment using cc is available as an option.
so all the while i just paid together with my assessment bills but have to use cash because pejabat tanah dan galian melaka and pejabat tanah dan galian selangor are not related to mbmb/mbsa. sad.gif
anyway, quit rent is smaller amount than assessment. biggrin.gif

I haven't been to Melaka PTD offices for years so don't know. But if you go to PTD offices in Selangor, can pay quit rent with credit cards at the cashier. But you are right, quit rent small amount for residential so may be waste of time to go there.
*
so quit rent still can't be done online? like assessment bill of shah alam can be paid via mbsa website (visa/master) or via m2u (amex)...

I've been paying my Hasil Tanah to PTG petaling using M2U. Can't find any online payment using CC. hmm.gif
*
your m2u method means using casa only right?
that means if really kiasu to use cc to pay for quit rent have to go all the way to ptg counter. laugh.gif

My salary rm4200 after epf and tax

First time apply for credit card
I wonder why
*
did you take any loan(s) before?
if no loans and no cc before, they can't track your payment records.

CC is only suppose to represent a convenient method of payment. Meaning, instead of carrying cash, u carry cards.

you are right. as for the cash back (if any) is just a bonus for us users.

Hi Guys, just wanted to share that when I recently cancelled my Public Bank Credit Card and Hong Leong Platinum Credit Card, both companies offered me a RM50 Cash Rebate to offset my GST in order to retain my Card.

As I already have other Cards and hardly use the above 2-cards, I did not take up their offer.

But to those who do use their Cards, just call up do insist that they give you the RM50 cash rebate.
*
actually someone suggested that we should request more than rm50, for example rm100 or rm150, because a mere rm50 does not benefit us as it goes straight to the gst. laugh.gif
and that person actually did receive rm100 or rm150 from the bank (standchart if not mistaken).

how do i get a waiver for the GST indirectly?
what do you guys normally tell?
i spend about 100K on one of my credit cards
i have received some special rebates but i want something specific for GST, can someone suggest and assist?
*
just call and ask for it, saying that you are loyal user of the card with huge transaction records and with prompt payment (they can verify from their system).

some banks are easy and will absorb the gst for you. for eg, credit a rm50 into your account to offset it or give you certain amount of points for you to redeem the gst.

but some banks won't absorb it for you. they will always reject your request, even if you threaten to cancel your card.

i went to read up Gen-X blog during lunch..i know what I need(and can afford) - MBB 2 Cards smile.gif
Gen-X, if you are reading this - TQVM notworthy.gif

yes, for f&b and shopping, amex should be your first choice. 5%+2% for weekend or 2% for weekdays. second choice would be aeon watami 3% everyday for everything with minimum quarterly expenses of rm3k (except for petrol) max cash rebate capped per quarter rm150.

*
easier to apply is one thing but the features/benefits of the cc should be the priority. i suggested for mbb2cards as it is a very good cc.

I was also thinking of hlb wise or uob one...cash back for petrol...I haven check out mbb cards yet.  Btw wld like to noe if I hv just been rejected by citibank. Will it make it harder to apply from other bank?
*
for hlb wise 10%:
1) need to swipe >rm50 for min 10x in a month to qualify for the 10%
2) only 2 categories + mobile are eligible for the 10%
3) high annual fees starting second year (unwaivable - but some said can)

for uob one 5%:
1) max rm500 for petrol which is rm25 cash rebate
2) some categories are 2% and others 0.3%
3) need to swipe 60x to waive annual fee of rm68 for classic; need to swipe rm36k or rm60k to waive annual fee of rm168 for platinum (able to waive by calling the cs but depends on individual)

for mbb2cards 5% amex:
1) free for life on annual fees
2) weekends 5% on all category (provided if the merchant accept amex) + 5x points (equivalent to 2%)
3) weekdays earn 5x points (equivalent to 2%)

Honestly I dun earn much. Just tht i have fix bonus n overtime every month. Guess hlb wise is out of the question as the annual fees is so high. Is maybank easy to apply? But I hv already sent in my application. Guess hv 2 wait n c how. I also wanna noe how the count the annual income. Do u know?
*
if compare the 3 cc, mbb2cards should be the easiest to get.
and with annual income of rm30k can get already.

annual income based on gross (just provide prove like ea form or salary slips).
if you have been rejected by other banks before, don't worry, because different banks have different standard of evaluation.
just try to submit but not too many in a period of time. if you keep getting rejected, the banks will feel your desperation in getting a cc which is no good for you.

Hi,

I've maxed out my credit card. And currently my Personal Loan has been rejected.

Is there any way I can apply any loan to clear my credit card outstanding ?

Thanks
*
maybe you can try to do balance transfer from another bank to pay off your current cc outstanding.
