QUOTE(chiahau @ Oct 1 2015, 09:02 AM) In a nutshell.... Visa tells you to go complaint to your issuing bank. Your issuing bank would then forward the case to Visa for further action. They enclosed a list of number for you to call. Then they will take some kinda action Mastercard tells you that it's okay to levy a surcharge providing that it's levied towards all Mastercard. 1. Capped at 4% or monthly surcharge rate specified at Master's website. 2. Surcharge amount MUST be disclosed and included in the tax invoice. 3. MUST be in writing and 30 days advance notice. ( Malaysian surely fail this one already ) End of the day, if you get refused, just go ahead and lodge complaints. Sooner or later, the issuing bank / merchant would get pissed and start to take action. We all can do our part in complaining. Thanks for the effort..luckily I am using visa most of the time. So the best way is to file a complaint to the bank and cc to BNM and Visa/MC

So the best way is to file a complaint to the bank and cc to BNM and Visa/MC Mastercard also quite transparent. If you want to charge the surcharge, must be in written notice + 30 days advance. Which merchant got write a letter 30 days in advance saying want to surcharge us? Terminal agreement / Merchant brand such as Visa / Master does not discriminate any amount for the use of CC nor surcharges are allowed, so next time someone refuse to accept, go ahead and CC BNM / Visa / Master. More complaint, more reason for them to take action and card users like us won't be bullied by those errand merchants.

Alone, it might do nothing. But at least, people will read and eventually start taking action. Or at least, it spreads awareness

My OCBC payment due today and thought of using IBFT from Maybank to OCBC who knows it doesn't have selection for IBFT, only GIRO. Any particular reason why not all banks can be IBFT-ed? In case you are wondering, OCBC is also one of the 15 banks which participating in this free IBFT campaign and allows their customers to perform free IBFT. Unfortunately, they can't accept IBFT from other banks. Anyway, not really an issue for me as the payment will be in tomorrow via GIRO.

Hi, I have RM1400 and RM1600 transaction which will fall into statement cycle of Oct 10th However, I still have pending RM1400 refund not yet credit to my credit card. Let says the refund is late and is credited after my statement date (Oct 10th) I will have statement amount of RM3000, outstanding amount of RM1600 May I know before the due date, I should only need to pay RM1600 only right? Or I should follow the statement amount.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 5 2015, 10:30 PM) Always pay statement amount. In that case, I will have -RM1400 in the outstanding. This not consider as overpaid? If I am not going to use the card for the next month. Then I have the RM1400 paid extra for nothing?
