Failed

Capital : 0
Period : 2 years +
Type of Business : Event props and Booth Contractor
Person : 1 partner (both of us can design and have knowledge on the materials and contruction techniques)
Lesson : Client company wash out with outstanding payment, unable to sustain to pay suppliers
This is a business that is easy to maintain the sales, what we did was, walk around exhibition and talk to people (give name cards). Eventually people will contact you to compare price and design. Nett profit margin is around 20%-45%

anyway im still looking for other business opportunities despite the failure of first business (which is very pain in debt but i am recovering =)). Lesson learned 0 capital doesn't mean low risk.

Also i would like to share this info for those who are interested on CAR RENTAL business, please refer to the website below,

http://wahiabdrashid.com/287/menubuhkan-sy...at-kereta-sewa/

not an easy process for the licensing, and risk management part.

Event biz is good income, but how much min capital need to start up?

I am working in hairdressing for more than 10 years. Thought it is time for me to start my own business. I am planning to takeover an existing hair salon as they alr have existing customer flow. The uncertainties are bigger if I open a new salon. Any advice on this matter? I want to learn more about doing business.

Its not easy to find hair salon business for sale, so expanding my network here in Lowyat, thought can get some recommendations from here.

Hi Guys. Sorry if this has been ask before. I am currently doing a business where i need to import things from overseas. Mainly Home Electronics Things.

Most of these things are either Electrical or Telecommunication based some are both.

Is there any one here that can recommend a company that deals with SIRIM, Tenaga and SKMM? i tried directly with sirim was confusing as hell.

I know some people posted ansarcorps before i tried but the one who attended to me was fast at first but each email started to have a slow reply from 1 day then 5 days then 1 week now 3 months with repeat emailing still not reply so yeah kinda gave up on them. thanks for the help
*
yes, deal with sirim is like hell

i think ur electrical goods must be tested and certified before u can sell in market right?

there is other third party lab other than sirim but quite costly

Hi all,

We are looking for potential partners to manage 10 outlets in Esteem Mall (Ulu Tiram). 10 outlets are consisting of mobile phones, accessories and IT products. If lacking of capital, you may opt for 1 outlet first.

Why partner us?
1) Teaming up with a stable Sdn Bhd company
2) Partner's share can be up to 50% (or more, negotiable)
3) Supplies, contacts and experience will all be shared
4) No contract / commitment required (contract can be arranged if want long term)
5) Name will be registered as a Director in SSM
6) Outlets are at Ground Floor main entrance
7) Free advertising by the mall and our company
8) Guaranteed sales!
9) Very low rental - First 3 months is free! After that is RM 1,XXX
10) If potential and passionate, follow us by moving on by setting up other businesses as well

Why we don't do it ourselves?
Only TWO simple reasons. We are not located in Johor & we do not wish to diversify too much without a new partner.

For those who are serious only, do drop me a PM

Not much. Actually perhaps only few K. All stocks and so already have, no need any renovation as of now cos the mall is still new.

Just need to buy perhaps cabinets and racks etc.

What we want is a partner to be in charge there. Of course will hire workers too. Money is no issue if really interested.

QUOTE(LovelyPotato @ Oct 16 2015, 01:31 PM)
Hi everyone, my dad is working in steel industry (fabrication for factories, such as trolleys, racks, etc. All our product are custom order, no brochure for item list). His business is not doing well in the past few years mainly due to the economy and political issue (most of his skilled worker trained by him are sent back to their origin country due to permit problem). Recently I came in to help him manage the business after I finished my degree last year.

The sales is not so good (production wise is another problem, current workers are working way too slow and available skilled worker out there are way too expensive and rare in current state of economy). This business is doing very well 10-15 years ago during the economy boom (199x-2005), after all the big factories move out from Malaysia and the opportunities is lesser and lesser.

Marketing in this industry doesn't seem like going anywhere since our target is mostly factories. We had tried creating websites and Facebook pages to show our manufacturing products and track records but it doesn't seemed to help.

Do note that this is a SME sized business, we had only about 3 workers in production, 1 lorry driver while me and my dad are taking the role on getting sales and all the management stuff. The overhead each month is ridiculously high (rental and salaries for worker) and the average margin for the business nowadays is about 30-40% only. Payment collection is another headache part and the credit term is always 60-90 days and our cash flow is getting very low. Do you guys think this kind of business is still workable in this country?
*
Of course workable, it depends on how u manage the company only

some of my clients still doing fine but mostly they all venture into oversea beside local market

Business Failure

Trading/Distributing Oil Lubricant

Capital : less than 10k
Partner : 2
Location : -
Monthly/Daily Income : RM400 - RM1k per month
Opinion :
1. Spend too much on promoting the product. (Product that does not advertise)
2. Fail on price negotiation with supplier on huge purchases. (profit margin remains)
3. Supplier increases the price of the product even though world price for crude oil fall (Decreasing the profit)
4. Order stock today, supplier deliver to me whenever he is free. No specific arrival time & date

Work on for few months, still rugi approximately RM5k, including web & brochure design & set up, printing of brochure and name cards. Discussed with my partner, decided not to continue due to the bad attitude of the supplier.

First failure & I am not giving up biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

Hi guys, I'm here to seek advice on behalf of my friends from all the sifu here and don flame me if you don't like it. Just tell me and I'll delete this  notworthy.gif

The situation of my friends is a bit complicated. He is interested in business and his dad is throwing him a challenge by letting him to start a business with Rm10-20mil capital (Yea, some big shot). But of course, is not giving him the capital for free and the capital is going to be in OD term (his dad giving from his own acc).

So, what can he start off with? His dad only condition is the business needs to start at Rm10mil and the business need to have physical shop. Hence, my friend need to buy a piece of land or property from part of the Rm10mil.

Thanks in advance to all the sifu and Happy New Year !
*
Any business can easily start off with that kind of capital..but question is what is ur friend interested in or what is his strength?

If physical shop, the business can be fnb, trading, cloth washing, etc..
