mine is 05/2005 vtec. Engine and gear no problem, still smooth and rocking. full tank can go almost 550km, slow driving, like uncle, around 80 - 90km/h only everyday. service at honda sc.

The only bad thing is, the nvh become very2 sick, but, i enjoy listen to the engine, smile.gif

Same, but mine fulltank only 430km liek dat coz city driving 80% often rev and push da car

anyone who facing with jerking engine ?
i feels when reach 90-100km at highway, timing will become unstable or changing gear from 6-7.

i notice that some parts need to change, but i not sure.
*
I use cvt most the time...so no 6-7th gear...usually just semi manual the 7sppeedmode...
No jerking at N or shift to D...quite ok upto 180kmph though abit floaty due to my 50 tire and the higway road condition here not so good like in KV

the city u bought new or used?
6 years car giving problem ,wat sort of problem, mind sharing? Mazda3 new how much?

Edit: and trade in value how much in KV? Here east, bank MV about 44K and myb transacted around 42K possible. but due to CNY coming, myb low demand and can only be sold around 38-40K...Trade in should be much much less.

I bought new City.

2008 Model VTEC.

Everytime go Honda Service Centre for service.

My gearbox got problem, so selling it. I changed CVT oil every 20,000km, rarely use the 7 Speed mode.

I see. it's unfortunate. Sry asking so much... how do you wait at the traffic light, you put to N or D+brake everytime or no definite?...just curious why your GB has problem coz if not the way it is extremely treated n evenso , it is not so easy to malfunction, I know coz I push it and if serviced by HSC, if by 200 5, the GB problem should be already solved through CVTF oil informed throughout the SC oredy...but, well..

hmmm, very strange....shift from N to D, then I drive away as like any other normal car like Myvi, waja, iswara, etc lo...
Once at D, I have sometime stomped on the fuel for a century sprint also upto 6krpm-redline, few times a month...for 8years, can tahan my driving also thas whay I testify the CVT can push abit as well...So I really m puzzled n regret for both your experience.

Has SC feedback anything on the vibration and the delayed acceleration ka...I'm sure they would have?

If price difference not much, I rather take vtec version. I prefer 4 disc brakes on the vtec rather than drum brakes for the idsi version.

Do you still have this problem? My brother in law actually fixed this for my idsi city. Btw, i have both idsi n vtec variants of the same make 🙄 i know i know, idsi was my mother’s while i got the vtec real cheap from relative.

The idsi’s condition before i took it over was hair-pulling complicated, internally. According to my mother, she already brought it to more than 7 workshops/garages to diagnose the jerking issue and that majority stated that it was the GB, some even said it was the A/C compressor and she did get that changed, which didnt do anything at all except that the car has freezer like coldness. Also the car couldnt go up hill, it will stall mid way if not crawling uphill real slow causing a jam.

After i took it over about a month, it got worse that it stalled at a red light, (wife was with our 2yo when she was using and shlt happened). Left it at my in-law’s for a week, then my BiL asked if i’d mind to let him fiddle around with the car a bit. (He’s a car enthusiast). End of the week when i went over to get the car, the jerking was gone, power went up, no jerking/stuttering/stalling ever since, and even overtaking slower cars uphill. This was 3 years ago when covid just hit. Still no issues on performance, although it is going through some wear n tear issues atm, cause its 20years old now… he did mentioned to me what did he do to it, and it didnt cost anything. Also he mentioned engine mountings were bad, so im mot sure which was it that fixed the damned car. Mountings or sensor. Ill get back on which sensor does he mean later.

Forgot to mentioned, our cars used to go to Honda SC for everything. Now besides all oil/fluids change. We dont go there anymore.
