IDSI = very good fc, economical, a bit underpowered

Vtec = normal fc, more powerful than the idsi

latest result of mine
full tank can go around 587.5km.
but im not really into speeding.
just normally 80-90km only.

but when reach 80-90km on highway, sometimes i feel like jerking/situation is like change gear suddenly..

Bro, ignition coil fault for this model is it that common ???

Most stories I heard is just the wheel bearing kaput very fast. That's all.

Even the previous model of City that I own also same. Honda wheel bearing don't last... doh.gif Happens to FD Civic too.

common problem for this model;

plug coil
rear wheel bearing (make sure u get the NSK Japan, not NTN China)
engine mounting (normal wear & tear)
cvt (just take a good care of her..but, recond cvt nowadays not so expensive anymore)
flywheel

alot of ppl mistaken that the ivtec is for performance or racing engine design. the ivtec we seen on the road are valve timing control, which continuous changing the cam timing according to different engine rpm and it cant be feel the crossover of the cam timing change. The original Vtec is those cam lifting engine such as B series , K series and H series engine which is totally a performance NA engine, that why the word of vtec kick in come from when the engine rev until certain high rpm and the cam profile changed that you will feel the power from the engine also different sound from the engine as well.... anyway, ivtec and idsi both are design for fuel economic but ivtec will focus more on engine response...

there is no significant in getting performance from voltage stabilizers....
so, don't buy it for the sake of getting "performance".
Buy it for the sake of getting your electrical components for the car "cleaner" and less ignition or electrical issues.

I use Pivot Spark and another japanese made VS...

I never had ignition issues, one click...car starts....driven a VTEC for 6 years...and the only time...was when the batter was flat.
And only changed my sparks ONCE in my whole entire car use....but my travel mileage was < 40k for 6 years.

The wheel bearing is one of City/Jazz 2004-2009's problem....but it also goes to the Civic line as well...
Major issues could be due to changing the rim size/heavier, pot holes..and suspension koyak but not replaced.
I changed only once during my ownership, and was using same rim size, but heavier...and lowered springs.

Spend a bit more in servicing/changing your CVT gearbox regularily...
No issues with my 2004 model during my 6 years.

mine is 05/2005 vtec. Engine and gear no problem, still smooth and rocking. full tank can go almost 550km, slow driving, like uncle, around 80 - 90km/h only everyday. service at honda sc.

The only bad thing is, the nvh become very2 sick, but, i enjoy listen to the engine, smile.gif
