I flash this stock Kit Kat from XDA.. So far so good...  tongue.gif

Kit Kat

After that install this Google experience launcher

Goole Expeience Launcher

I miss the full screen experience during watching movies  sad.gif  Any idea to make it full screen during playback?
*
What video player you are using now? I tried MX Player and stock video player, both also full screen for me. And this is the first time I use MX Player to watch movie after updated to 4.4, so there is also a blue notification on the top to notify me swipe down to show the status and navigation bar.

bros..if device already rooted, can we still receive OTA update. ROM & kernel remain stock?
*
QUOTE(Clingxcling @ Nov 15 2013, 06:17 PM)
was wondering the same question  biggrin.gif
*
As long as your Stock ROM's system files are remain unmodified then you can receive OTA, it doesn't matter if you are rooted or having custom recovery for this update.

One of the major weaknesses of Android is the persistent navigation/menu bar. How can it be set to hide and show automatically when user touch on the screen? I find it kinda annoy when playing full size game like PnZ2, the bar is there when you play the game!
*
This has been implemented into Android 4.4, developers need to use the API in order to have the full screen experience for their users.

Waiting nova to implement transparent app drawer smile.gif
*
What I mean is we cannot use 2 launchers at the same time haha.
Nova launcher can set transparent app drawer already, go to Nova settings > Drawer > Background transparency.

QUOTE(sss2sssss @ Nov 17 2013, 02:52 PM)
that's not got related with the developer option as since he can go to the recovery mode via adb already, I'm sure that he already active the debugging mode...
That just the driver problem itself, mostly this problem will occur when using the Windows 8/8.1 since they divide the adb driver into two different part (one is the device is turn on and the name is "device" in adb device; another one is when it is on sideload mode and the name is "sideload" in adb device)
so the solution is after goes into the "apply update via ADB", install one more time the adb driver in the computer then it's done
*
Just in case bro, my computer which runs Windows 8.1 can only detect my Nexus 7 under MTP if USB debugging is enabled, same goes to Nexus 4. Every single steps need to take care since now is related to connectivity issue.

any simple way to root other than on 1st page?

kinda blur reading from the link bout rooting
*
Use CF Auto Root by Chainfire.

1. Reboot to fastboot mode and connect to your pc, make sure you have correct driver installed in your PC.
2. Download CF Auto Root here(for WiFi model) or here(for LTE model).
3. Extract the zip file.
4. Run root-windows.bat
5. Press any key in the command prompt and it will start doing the work.
6. Done and reboot device.

Lol I just got it this morning tongue.gif

Is GEL stable for this device? Thinking of trying it out.
*
GEL is currently not tailored for Nexus 7, when you put it in landscape mode, you will see some widget overlapping with the Search Bar, hopefully Google can sort it out and release it to all devices in near future.

Edit: Thread updated with OTA zip file download link. Check first post for the information.

Sifu .. i got  a noob Q and would appreciate if you could advise me :

1. I have rooted and install custom rom on my N72013, it is advisable to flash it back to stock via Root tool kit and thereafter  await OTA update; or

2. install the latest update via Root tool kit ?
*
Wait for OTA might take you some time, just download the newest 4.4 factory image from Google Developers Site and flash it.

Stock ROM? OTA for LTE model is now rolling out, wait it if you are patient enough. Else just sideload the OTA zip file and you are done.

Any idea how to solve Status 7 while flashing OTA? I'm using CWM recovery to flash the latest OTA and am getting the status 7. Now whenever I try to boot the device it goes straight to recovery mode.. anyone face this before and how to solve this?
*
Status 7 in CWM occurs when the update script tries to find your device model and finds that it is not for your device.

So make sure you download the correct OTA zip file, you can also try to use TWRP instead of CWM.

Can any1 get flash to work on KitKat??
Seam that I am unable to get it working (install OKed) on my N4 and N7-2 using dolphin browse.
*
Full screen works sometimes, but it will force close after a while. It looks like Google completely killed flash player in 4.4

My nexus rooted with stock ROM and kernel. I received he OTA update to 4.4. After installed, I could not pass the update as it mentioned verification failed. What is the steps I need to do?
*
Try to sideload the OTA zip file again, make sure you are on stock for everything and your system files are unmodified. If fail again then you might need to consider flashing the factory image.

GEL doesn't include transparency lock screen, it's a framework related stuff, get it here.

Hi..sorry as I a bit noob on this sideload thing, is there possible to update the OTA file through recovery?
*
Yes, you can flash the OTA zip file in custom recovery like TWRP or CWM, but please make sure you have an unmodified system files. If you have stock recovery, you need toolkit or Android SDK to sideload it, for new learner like you, I recommend you to use toolkit to sideload it if you are still on stock recovery, the sideload option can be found in toolkit main menu, it is very easy as all instructions are shown in the toolkit.
