Hi Terence, couldn't find the search button that you are taking about.
Not talking about Gmail though, it's stock android's email application.
*
Yea, I am using stock Email client though.

Omg !@@! I'm using 4.3.1, or is there any solution for this? This stock email is the perfect speed for my MS Exchange mail.
*
Try verify the version of the email app you are using, maybe there is an update? Mine is 4.1 for the email client.

Hi all , i would like to ask if i use TWRP to flash factory nexus 7 rom , is it i restore the nexus 7 lte back to original mode? or i need lock the boot-loader after i flash nexus 7 factory rom ?
*
I don't think you can flash back stock ROM by using TWRP. You need either toolkit or Android SDK in order to flash back to stock ROM. Flashing stock ROM does bring your unit back to original mode, you will lost root by doing this, relocking bootloader is not necessary/recommended if you plan to root or do modifications later because next time you unlock your bootloader, it will wipe all your data again.

Thanks bro , i just want to know how to get Kit Kat 4.4 version when google release it.

I use Carbon Rom + Elementary 1.8 currently . Thanks.
*
In order to get OTA update from Google, you need stock ROM, stock recovery(some people claim that they can still install OTA update even though they have custom recovery installed but it is just for minor update i.e. small version bump or patch etc), stock kernel and unmodified system.

Use toolkit(download link in first page) to flash back to stock ROM easily. You do not need to have a locked bootloader to receive update btw.

Hi all,

Would like to have a quick check whether there is a solution now to enable the tablet for "calling" purposes. Through the network (digi, celcom, maxis etc).

No

terence can recommend a stable and nice custom rom for LTE 4.4 kitkat? some i see like pureAOSP but camera is not working....
*
Camera won't work until Google releases Android 4.4 binaries, so hopefully Google can push out the update next week so custom ROM can follow the step in the coming weeks.

where is it ? can show me ?
*
First thing, do you root your tablet? If yes then navigate to /system/build.prop and do the editing there.

QUOTE(jacktay94 @ Nov 9 2013, 06:44 PM)
not really true. for n4, kitkat is bug free before binaries are out. so.. we hope. xD
*
N4 camera is working is because developers using old 4.3 binaries and vendors, it magically worked when trying to build from source, for our N7 it didn't work, we need a working blob in order to make it work from scratch.

And there is a developer ported the N5 KitKat to N4 so no doubt it will work too.

Definitely. And you can use the tablet as a wifi hotspots for other phones too.
Even the previous older nexus 7 can n is strange why yours cannot
*
This is because old Nexus 7 doesn't have "Tethering & portable hotspot" option by default in stock ROM, you have to manually flash a zip file in order to have it. Google added it in the new Nexus 7 and you can even find this option in a WiFi unit which doesn't seem to have any use unless you are planning to create an ad hoc network between devices for easy file transferring.

Hi,is the following problems normal in this device? coz i just send the device for repair and now come back they said change motherboard and screen but the problem still exist...even though i just buy another one with LTE version still get the following problems.. Anyone experience it?
1.Gallery stock apps problem : When browse the movies file that I had install in my device, the gallery stock app will show green thumbnails for some of the movies file and unable to load the thumbnail of it correctly, the device then freeze and the device will reboot itself everytime when I browse the movies file which contains many movies.  Even try for factory rest and clear data for gallery stock apps many times, the problems still occurs.

2. Audio stutter problem by rotating the screen when playing audio and videos.
*
Nope, I don't have both issues you are facing currently.

Updated first page for Android 4.4 OTA zip link for WiFi(flo) version and the instructions to adb sideload it. LTE(deb) version is coming soon according to Google.

sideload only for unroot? How to flash if root?
*
Same process for rooted user, but you will lost root after you have sideloaded it, just flash the latest supersu 1.69 zip to regain root permission.

This is strange, you use custom recovery to sideload or use adb sideload from a PC?

used nexus root toolkit-->advanced utility-->adb sideload update

i followed the steps but in the end it came out error

i noticed that everytime i want to boot back to system from twrp, a message to ask me whether i want to fix permission will appear. it says my root permission had been lost but after i reboot and check using root checker, root checker say my root is working properly
*
Oh well, copy the zip file to your device and install from TWRP provided your system file is unmodified, you will lost root after you have successfully updated to 4.4, you have to manually re-root it by flashing supersu zip in recovery.

i tried that too but again fail. E:Error executing updater binary in zip

i checked on xda they say this zip file can only be sideloaded (unless your n7 is pure stock) but someone already managed to made it to be flashable as well. will try it out later cause the file is 400mb+ large and the internet connection where i am now is too slow
*
Yes, that's why I said "provided your system file is unmodified", if you are rooted, it is still fine to install the update without problem, the main concern here is system file.

my only modify is custom recovery so that is considered modified system file right?
*
Nope, the system file that I mentioned earlier is /sys/, /system/ etc, custom recovery is fine with this OTA update, I successfully installed the OTA using TWRP without issue, just have to re-root after installed the OTA.

Do we have to download a separate apk to get google home?

Yes for now, hopefully Google is going to release the Google Experience Launcher to Google Play Store soon so everyone can get it from there.
