Hi Almerians

I read quite a few post in LYN about the Almera being floaty / unstable when driven fast on highway. Some say even at 110kph it feels floaty. I don't expect it to perform like fast & furious as I know the Almera is built for comfort & not for speed & fast cornering. But to drive @ 110kph on a straight road and feel floaty seems quite odd to me. The design of a Nissan can't be that poor right ?

I'm just wondering if anyone has experience an improvement after fitting a body kit eg maybe an Impul one or a 3rd party body kit ? I will be using my car for city drive with the occasional outstation drive a few times a year & also to the highways around Klang Valley.

Any feedback is appreciated.

honestly, i dun feel my almera floaty in high speed, i used to drive my almera in 180kmph+ in highway and it is still stable enough.. btw, i only change to 15" sport rim with stock tyres.

*additional, it is quite powerful and fast enuf to overtake in high speed, when overdrive turn off.

Thanks for your input ttkhean & Trevorel. Maybe those who commented compare it to cars that has been modified or that is designed for high performance.

I also booked mine with the original 15" alloy rims and I don't intend to change my original tyres until they botak. when I test drove, I tested going up a slope & over uneven surface but didn't get a chance to try it on highway speed. Trevorel is yours with body kit as well ?

I'm happy just to have a comfortable car for normal driving that is practical & reliable. Have to wait till mid to 3rd week of Jan for delivery.

Cheers.

mine before 1st service 7.2L fc ... but after that is 7.3L fc...
i wonder why etcm using 15w 50 engine oil for run in???
the owner manual recommended 10w 30 engine oil...
there are many types of engine oil... maybe when they said that for run in better used the thicker mineral oil... and i can agree with them. but 15w 50 for me is to thicker and this wil result for high fc ... because the engine will struggle to running and feel berat meh...then you will push the paddle more to accelarate...there are many types of viscosity of oil...maybe they can used 10w 40... are they any suggestion box..

when customer ask whether they can bring their own engine oil...the SA say can but you must fill a form that said they will not responsible if anything happen to the car...it not a user friendly policy...because they dont provide a variety types of engine oil for customer to choice... customer wanted to well kept their own car... but they dont have choice but to follow SOP... this types of marketing not good laah...
can anybody tell me if their is other service centre that provide a variety types of engine oil... i also kena for engine oil treatment... this is my 1st experience using JAP car... so i not familiar their types of marketing strategy... feel berat la my car after 1st service... i'm thinking to find other service centre that provide me a choice of engine oil... because after 10k they only provide 10w 40 semi syntetic oil only... it not the recommended types of viscocity oil by the user manual...

Hey guys,

I have been driving my almera for a month. Done the 1000 service. I found that my car is not fc savvy as in I'm getting average of 9.3 whereas I see many got 7ish. Plus my car is extremely bad at taking over/pick up. As in REALLY BAD!

I am not expecting it To perform like a sport car but it really take big effort to take over a car that is not driving very fast though. I pumped $70 for 450km city drive.

Is my car normal or something is not right? =(

yes, mine with impul bodykit.

logically saying, if you wan your car fast and powerful, do not expect low FC; if you wan your car low FC, do not expect your car fast and powerful.

my friends, work in Nissan service centre (TCEAS) as a Service Advisor, when i took my car for service, he used to drive my car and cut queue so i need not to wait. after he drove my car, he commented that my car is more powerful than other almera.

it is not bcoz of modification or what, it is because of i used to "train" it well after 1k service.

let the car learn your driving behavior. a well-trained horse can always run fast if it wants.

How you train your new almera? Any special way to do it, then got more power after the training?

Thanks. Trevorel. Maybe it's cos u tekan it to the max (180kph ohmy.gif ) so exhaust, fuel injectors, very clean.

Totally understand on FC vs performance. That was 1 of the reason I choose Almera & not Vios & City although they r more powerful & handles better at high speed. But to be floaty @ the normal highway speed seems illogical IMO. As I'm sure Nissan wouldn't design a car that can't even remain stable at normal highway speed.

At the end of the day, it's knowing what you want to use it for, getting d car that meets those requirement and not have unrealistic expectations. smile.gif
