Hi Fellow Almerians

Have been reading this threads for weeks. Finally booked an E Specs Auto with Impul Bodykit & Alloy Rims this afternoon. It will be 2014 manufactured stock. SA said earliest will be mid Jan but latest before CNY. rclxm9.gif

for this 2014 stock, what discounts / offers given to you ?
the Impul Bodykit is free, or offered at half price ?
please share. thanks

3k from TC & 1k by SA = 4k. Impul Body kit @ 50% = $1.5k. Nismo body kit also @50%. Didn't ask about Impul & Nismo Performance package since I didn't intend to upgare to that.

1k given by way of subsidising for 3rd party accessories which I wanted + I needed to top up another $900.

1) Agard Tint - 75% UV & shatterproof (listed price 1.5k) including coil mat.
2) kick plate for 4 doors
3) Mechanical brake lock (not the type that has wiring to cut off fuel pump also)
4) Sun visor for 4 doors
5) Boot tray

I went to find out the prices of the accessories piror to the booking & it's around there maybe slightly cheaper so I said ok.

Hope it helps. If u need d contact, let me know & i'll pm u. From TC OUG branch Old Klang Road.

Hi Almerians

I read quite a few post in LYN about the Almera being floaty / unstable when driven fast on highway. Some say even at 110kph it feels floaty. I don't expect it to perform like fast & furious as I know the Almera is built for comfort & not for speed & fast cornering. But to drive @ 110kph on a straight road and feel floaty seems quite odd to me. The design of a Nissan can't be that poor right ?

I'm just wondering if anyone has experience an improvement after fitting a body kit eg maybe an Impul one or a 3rd party body kit ? I will be using my car for city drive with the occasional outstation drive a few times a year & also to the highways around Klang Valley.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks for your input ttkhean & Trevorel. Maybe those who commented compare it to cars that has been modified or that is designed for high performance.

I also booked mine with the original 15" alloy rims and I don't intend to change my original tyres until they botak. when I test drove, I tested going up a slope & over uneven surface but didn't get a chance to try it on highway speed. Trevorel is yours with body kit as well ?

I'm happy just to have a comfortable car for normal driving that is practical & reliable. Have to wait till mid to 3rd week of Jan for delivery.

Cheers.

yes, mine with impul bodykit.

logically saying, if you wan your car fast and powerful, do not expect low FC; if you wan your car low FC, do not expect your car fast and powerful.

my friends, work in Nissan service centre (TCEAS) as a Service Advisor, when i took my car for service, he used to drive my car and cut queue so i need not to wait. after he drove my car, he commented that my car is more powerful than other almera.

it is not bcoz of modification or what, it is because of i used to "train" it well after 1k service.

let the car learn your driving behavior. a well-trained horse can always run fast if it wants.

**all of the above are bullshit... hahahha...  whistling.gif  whistling.gif
*
Thanks. Trevorel. Maybe it's cos u tekan it to the max (180kph ohmy.gif ) so exhaust, fuel injectors, very clean.

Totally understand on FC vs performance. That was 1 of the reason I choose Almera & not Vios & City although they r more powerful & handles better at high speed. But to be floaty @ the normal highway speed seems illogical IMO. As I'm sure Nissan wouldn't design a car that can't even remain stable at normal highway speed.

At the end of the day, it's knowing what you want to use it for, getting d car that meets those requirement and not have unrealistic expectations. smile.gif

Hi All

Can I ask what stock tyres were fitted when you got your cars ? I read some got Goodyear, Dunlop or Continental CC. Anyone know which is the best out of the standard tyres they give ? I intend to use the stock tyres for the moment. So I want ot make a request to my SA.

Please share your experience of your stack tyre i.e. hard / soft / noise level / grip in the wet.

Thanks.

I have my Almera more than 1 year, and my mileage 46k++  currently,  I just wanted to share out some experiences to u all to improve your almera condition:

1. TYRE ~ Normally i like to speed drive, 120 - 180km/h, that is no problem with unstable, lighter because i changed the original rubbish Continental CC1 outdated tyre to Bridgestone 185/60/15(made in Japan @ RM180/nos.).  alignment and balancing goes very well.more accurate.

2. FUEL ~ I tried my car with some different petrol, i prefer BHP 2xinfinity is very suit to Almera, the sound from engine running very smooth & silent, Power of acceleration increase, top speed easy speed up from 100 to 160km/h ( but i din't border on the Fuel Consumption lol).
Petronas, Shell - less power than bhp and noisy.
Caltex - less power + noisy... ( not recommended on Almera)
Petron - So so....

3. Window Visor ~ I removed the window visor due to the sound when speeding.

4. Hand phone Charger ~ not recommend to use vehicle charger, it will slow down your speed (almera only, my gf's vios no problem with this).

This only my opinion....

Thanks
*
The original tyre is 185/65/15. I see a lot of ppl mention changing to either 185 or 195/60/15. By changing to a lower profile tyre i.e. fr 65 to 60 is sure to improve the handling but will the spedometer still be accurate as the number of rotation of the tyre will also change due to lower profile. Any input fr the sifus in the tread ?

hey, what engine run-in means ?
*
when the car is new, just out of the factory, the engine parts are very tight & and the moving parts like the pistons has more friction from rubbing against each other. So during this period, for Almera recommended km before you can tekan the car is 1600km to let the parts loosen up.

During this time, try not to exceed 4000rpm.

Newbie reporting in ~

Just booked V A/T (Brilliant White) for my wife

The SA gave me 2 options:

1) 4k rebate
2) Forget about the rebate, instead he will give me:
    - Nismo Body-kit
    - 6.75" HD Touch Screen DVD Player
    - Door Visor
    - Trunk Tray
    - 4M Tinted
    - Others (Smart-Tag + Touch N Go, Stering Lock, Road Tax Holder & Full Tank Petrol

The SA did mentioned that although the car manufactured in 2013, but the registration year will be 2014.. I think he want to convince me on the Resale Value thingy (which I dont think there is any different, its still considered 2013 rite?). Nevertheless, its irrelevant since we plan to use the car for long-term (6-8 years)...

As of now, I'm going for Option 2. Need you guys opinion, whether the offer was good enough or I should ask for more?  hmm.gif
*
My SA was willing to give me RM 4.5k discount if I take 2013 car. Did not tekan for more but I believe can get somemore freebies if I tekan.

I only wanted 2014 manufactured car. For 2014 car, she is giving me RM 4k discount + 3rd party booth tray, door kick plate & door visor. She said quality is close to TC's originals, however, kick plate doesn't have the Almera word that lights up like the original. It's just a normal stainless steel type.

Hmm... I think I will ask for more before I sign the deal... At least by adding the kicking plate and LED wind mirror... Thanks for the advice...
Nope En Tiger, I dont need to pay anything if I take option 2... The RM 4k rebate will cover everything...
Sound like a good deal.. But why not TC's original? Hehe (batu api...)
*
TC original lebih mahal than 3rd party. Anyway, I'm ok if the quality is quite close. But for Impul bodykit & alloy rims I took original as I don't want any warranty issues.

Do update us on your final deal after booking.

Just booked VL A/T with impul kit (Brilliant White) on Monday
Got RM4K rebate, additional personal SA rebate of around RM300, free carpet mat and full tank.

Still contemplating on the colour actually if I should get the grey or the bronze gold... but many told me white looks better with the kit.. but needs body coating to protect the paint..  blink.gif
And it's a 2014 car, so the SA told me that I should be getting my ride by CNY  biggrin.gif
Oh, and just wondering if those tinting services in groupon etc trusted and reliable? The deals are just too cheap to give a miss, but still need opinions though  icon_question.gif
*
Do be careful when it comes to tinting. IMO it's better to go for reputable shop/brand as I'm sure you have seen even relatively new cars around town with the whole window having air bubbles. I have a 10 year old Toyota Unser whose tint is still great aside from scratches that's caused by my kids. doh.gif That cannot blame the tint companylah.

Officially checking in. 2014 car e specs Bronze Gold with Impul BK & alloy rims. My car was ready for collection yesterday evening but could not make it to collect. sad.gif . Anyway its a good thing as it's easier to inspect the car under the bright morning sun this morning. Got very light surface scratch on righ back door panel. Complained to SA. she already aware & tried to polish by hand but still there. Manager ask to inform SC during 1k service & SC will take care of it. doh.gif

Drove it to Tesco Cheras area, via Sri Petaling thru MRR2. Nice smooth & quite ride. Tested it to 95km/h& rpm was slightly above 2k. So far did not detect exhaust or door pillar sound. Will continue to monitor & update this thread.

Regarding car insurance, if I'm buying a 2nd car, will I be entitle for ncb 55% as current car already having it. Keep current car, buy another. How?
*
Hi

NCD applies to 1 vehicle which earn it only. However, it can be transferred to another vehicle. Normally, NCD will be transferred to a more expensive vehicle especially when you have 55% NCD as you will have maximun savings.

when you trasfer the NCD, you will have to top up the unexpired portion of the vehicle you are transferring from. e.g. say insurance for you current vehicle is RM 1,000 & you have 6 months to go before expiry. You you will need to pay your current insurance company RM 275 ($1000 x 55% = 550/ 6 months).

NCD is built up over time when you have no cliam on that policy.

i.e.

After 1st yr 25% discount for renewal of 2nd yr insurance
After 2nd yr 30%
After 3rd yr 38.33%
After 4th yr 45%
After 5 or more yrs 55% (maximum)

Hi

Just wondering if anyone has installed those brake / ignition lock with the "Y" socket (plug & play, no cutting of wires) like Lock Tech / Lock Tact and gone for your 1k, 5k or 10k service after that ? Any issues from the SC on warranty ?

ya, it fully closed because it was just tinted and the sa said dont pull up or pull down the window. SA asked me to send my car to sc for checking..just very sad
*
Just recheck the window to ensure it's fully wound up. Maybe the tinting staff may have accidently not wound it up in full. If confirm wound up, then take it to SC & ask them to do water test. For problem like this don't need to wait till 1k service.

If you do a lot of city driving with jam is like that. distance from my hosue to office is only 10km one way but it takes me average 1/2 hour sometimes up to 45 mins due to KL jam. everyday like that. Weekends I drive about 100km on klang valley highway. also get < 400km. current milage 1.8k.

when I drive outstation, the milage improve. Can get > 400km per full tank rclxms.gif
