I think it is generally a good car. My basis for comparison is mainly between Almera and Vios (since my mom owns a Vios and I've been driving it before getting this Almera)

FC = My mileage is less than 500km and I'm getting around 9.7l/100km 95% city drive. My mom's Vios clocks the same consumption. If you're paying 65k for an Almera vs 100k for a Prius C, you have 35k to spend on petrol! biggrin.gif

Noise insulation = Pretty good. Engine is silent when in operation (compared to Vios)

Comfort = Tons of space, and bumpy roads don't feel uncomfortable. Actually, going over bumps is a joy biggrin.gif

Handling = The steering wheel is super light but I can feel significant body roll when cornering at higher speeds (worse than Vios)

Acceleration = I'm a light-footed driver so I prefer to step on the pedal gradually to build speed. The CVVT engine is very smooth (I'd say it's between CVT and Vios' engine in terms of smoothness). However, pick-up wise, the Vios is better.

Interior = It's not ideal. It seems pretty ugly and dated. However, it is simple and has all the basic necessities you need in a car. Simplicity also means less potential for parts to break down, and stuff will be easier (& probably cheaper to repair). The front pillars of the car gives pretty much an identical blind spot as the Vios.

Exterior = I personally found the Almera awful without the bodykit, which prompted me to spend 1.5k on the Impul bodykit.... The bum still looks a bit awkward, but the front and side look waaaay better with the bodykit on.

Safety = Well, let's just say many Jap carmakers take advantage of the fact that Malaysians care more about a car's looks rather than its safety. However, if you drive safely and defensively, you're more likely to stay alive than a person who drives like a madman in a car with a gazillion airbags.

Overall, 65k for the lowest spec-ed auto variant is pretty okay for what you're getting, given it's a foreign car brand with less headaches (reliability, servicing).

My 2 cents.
*
i frankly believe this is very fair review

this car is not perfect but its actually value for money
for 65-67K range. comfort wise and NVH level this is the best money can buy

abit turn off is just 1 airbag for cheapo level but i am ok with it lo

Some almerians said...after u service, take out negative connection battery to making reset ecu. Let it around 15 minutes and put it on back and set back the clock (will default to 0:00)
*
this is reset ecu. maybe can reset ur driving record from ECU
but i dont think it will help anything
i tried with old car. no impact.

but what i notice with my old car. just drive and it will get better
not sure with this alemera/. just wait n see

Any cheapo grounding cable will make effect on car? Thinking to add grounding cable and voltage stabilizer....
*
just my personal opinion la

all those will not bring major improvement to the car because our car are not performance car. just normal family car. even if it does i doubt it worth for your money.
same to fuel saving product.

Attrage engine is using 3spark plug ma...for less then 100km/h sure fuel saving and save fuel..but wanna to 100km/h a above is commit sucide to the car...yes v hardly use up to 100km/h n above but once in a blue month go holiday by using Attrage then is suffering...Almera is better choice..I'm happy to drive my Nissan almera
*
3 cylinder car will produce more noise at high speed but does not mean it will kill the engine. 3 cylinder will hv higher RPM as well.
my kenari with 3 piston mileage was 250k and i am constant hi-way drive at above allow speed limit.
and it last me for 8 years without a problem. except for wear n tear.

but of course 4 cylinder is more quiet n more nice to drive for high way la

hello all, am looking for some quick inputs on a question regarding 2nd hand value, as I have very little knowledge in this area.

in terms of 2nd hand value, on the average, is the drop in value of Nissan cars, the same level / on par as the 2 other popular Japanese brands of Toyota & Honda? or do Nissan cars drop a bit more than them ?

very curious & eager to know, thanks in advance
*
based on my survey last time
nissan drop faster than toyota or honda.

try mudah for sentra and slyphy
and compare with same segment
