hey guy , any ddr2 value ram with D9 chip to introduce ?
*
Not all Micron D9 chipset is a good overclocker.
Only three model that is confirmed to be a good overclocker. That is, D9GCT, D9GMH & D9GKX.

Nowadays?
You can only wish.

As most valueram that comes with those three chipset i state up there is nomore.
You can only get 2nd hand ram in the garage sales section.

Those are Great Chips. equalling or better than those OCable D9s. VR zone has a review on it.
*
I knew that lol. laugh.gif
But then, it's really hard to find the good revision of FP-S5.
IINM, the good revision of FP-S5 is revision B, correct?

Which FP-S5 revision B is really hard to find.

Instead of pushing yourself to get a hard to find FP-S5 Revision B, why don't you just go and find D9GMH? smile.gif

EDIT: I forgot to tell one thing, FP-S5 Revision A is a big sucker in overclocking.
Been there, done that. laugh.gif

* I can only post about this after nakata101 has finished selling those ram that he sell that uses FP-S5 Revision A chipsets. Don't want to ruin his sales, that's why i never tell anyone about this tongue.gif

That's only applicable to Crucial Ballistix Tracer.

Any rams from the lines of Team Elite & Team Extreem Dark uses ProMOS chipset.
No matter what speed and what sizes.

What's your point showing me that link?
I know about DDR2 Ram List long enough.

You can't depend on that list anymore, it's not reliable enough nowadays since it is not updated for a very long time.

QUOTE(mfcm @ Sep 20 2007, 11:44 AM)
so the perfomace of oc cmpare to d9?
In terms of overclockability, they can overclock up to 1100MHz, however, they are weak in terms of latency and timings.

QUOTE(tachlio @ Sep 20 2007, 11:51 AM)
but Kucingfight do tell me that Team Elite do better than KVR FP-Y5
Yes, what kucingfight say is true, those ProMOS chipset do performs better than FP-Y5, but don't expect it to perform at the same level as D9GMH & D9GKX. smile.gif

That depends on what kind of chipset is used on the ram itself. smile.gif

what micron chips are on 1GB Team Group DDR667 Value RAM?
No team valueram uses Micron chips nowadays.
It have been replaced with other chipsets.

From my test of a new unit 1GB Team Valueram which is from the newest batch, and what i can say is that it's not really overclockable.

If you're lucky, you might get those old batches that uses ProMOS chipset which is considered as overclockable, but still can't fight with any Micron D9GMH / D9GKX / D9GCT chips. smile.gif

Any seller that you found saying that Team Valueram DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz 1GB uses Micron chipsets is a big liar.
Show us who's that guy and more preferable with link.

Zhen^Wei selling. He said Micron D9DCN on it.
Liar.
Me and soulfly already told him not to confuse people about the ram that he's selling uses Micron D9DCN.

Snyy, the earlier batch overclocks well, as in the earlier batch Team Valueram DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz uses ProMOS chipset.
But the latest batch no longer uses ProMOS chipset.
I bought two stick for my own use directly from my supplier, tested, and it doesn't overclock well enough.

Dude, if you really want to overclock your ram, perhaps you should dig deeper in your pocket and get the rams that is built for overclocking.

Example:
Team Xtreem Dark or Team Xtreem [Any speed]
Crucial 10th Annivessary DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz 1GB
Crucial Ballistix or Crucial Ballistix Tracer [Any speed]

And some other specific model from some other brand. smile.gif

Bro, how good is Promos chip ~?
ProMOS has the capability to reach high speed of 1000MHz at a very very high timings which is bad.

While Micron D9GCT/D9GMH/D9GKX, it has the capability of reaching high speed but on very low timings which is why they were voted as the best 3 chipset for DDR2. smile.gif

And also, tell zhen^whei about this, who told him that Micron D9DCN has the capability of reaching 1000MHz?
Micron D9DCN is a really really bad overclocker.
No overclocker uses Micron D9DCN for their system.

mine is kingston value ram only cry.gif
He's using Corsair XMS2, and yours is Kingston Valuerams.
What's there to cry about?

Both of them is the same.
Corsair XMS2 Twinx is nothing but a Corsair Valueram with heatspreader.

Honestly, there's nothing to cry about. smile.gif

Higher prices doesn't mean it's better than the others. smile.gif

QUOTE(v1rtual @ Oct 27 2007, 05:32 PM)
ohh, really??
but why is the price different is so much, is it just because of the brand??
That's because Corsair love to suck people's blood.

Do you see any extreme overclocker uses Corsair rams for their system? rolleyes.gif

compare with the crucial ballistix PC6400 & PC8500, if both of them using the same chip. may i know PC8500 will clock higher than PC6400 or same??
Should be the same.
The PC2-8500 is flashed to PC2-8500 because most motherboard nowadays has the native support for DDR2 PC2-8500 1066MHz.
