that extra batt if for zen vision only right (one of the reason why i wanted ZV oso..and one of the reason to not buy it as i didnt want to fork extra cash for the extra batt)

supazta:

On the battery issue, technically, it would be better to leave it charging, coz the battery stops charging when it gets full, then if the ZVM is continued to be plugged into AC, then ZVM will use the AC power (instead of using battery). Modern devices stops charging the battery when it is full.

All batteries have life time cycles, e.g. most mobile battery can only last for 500 charges, so battery life = number of times you charge, not how many hours you use it...

Why isn't there a single Creative distributor or representative selling accessories for the Creative Zen Vision M? I lost my charger/transfer cable and can't replace it. Creative Singapore will not mail online purchases out of Singapore and I've come to realise that the Zen Vision M is " Made in Malaysia ".

Does anyone know where to buy the dock at a less cut-throat price? Singapore is selling it at SGD69. which is about RM150 to 170.

Well... if you are a heavy user like me... (i.e. 15 hours of music/day) 500 times => 1 charge per day = almost two years... smile.gif But that time, wouldn't you want something better? smile.gif

I have heard that there are replacement batteries, from Creative. Not so sure about the price though. Let me ask around first.

About accessories, I totally understand dude, no one sells any spare part. Not even the big Creative shop in entrance of Plaza Low Yat.

well, i read from the site that there are indeed replacement battery sold for zen vision (i am not sure zen: vision or ZVM)..but there might be extra charges if you replace it at the shop..

nimloth32:

For Zen Vision, the battery is easily replaceable, like mobile phone battery. For ZVM, it's like iPod, which you need specialist to crack open the case to replace the battery.

After 500 charges, batteries will still work, just it might not retain the charge that long. E.g. if when you buy new, one charge = 15 hours, after 500 change, each charge probably last 4-5 hours.

both has similar audio quality, but X5L has more audio control

The X5 is the finest DAP player I ever known while ZVM would be the most successful hybrid DAP +PMP player existed wink.gif

read lotsa review complaining about the joystick...easily rosak since it pops out from the x5l body.

also...since to find one unit itself would be hard..i wouldnt want to risk buying it if the warranty proven to be too hard to be claimed.

think about it.
better buy something that has a service centre close to u.
u can save on shipping cost / repair cost since they will have to import even the tiniest part from oversea.

thats one of my major concern..which lead me to settle for zen vision m. though i actually like the simplicity of the x5L design.

yaaaaaa, I forgot the button issues on X5L, yawn.gif

it's a typical korean DAP dry.gif, some people couldnt hand it well due 'stiffed button' techonology; thats giving ZVM more ergonomics over X5L Not to forget the apple clickwheel is the finest navigation made.
