imho, we shud have signed Cavani when we had the chance, when he shows that he wanted to leave Napoli. If we did sign him last September, we will be firing on all cylinders. Too bad he moved to PSG. sleep.gif

Perhaps it is our biggest mistake to focus on rooney.
if we have go for other signature like falcao or cavini or even lewandowski we would be on fire now.

Yup. But nvm, it's a new year, a new hope for us. I'm sure we'll find a solution for ur striker department. biggrin.gif

Team to face @SouthamptonFC (4-2-3-1): Cech; Azpilicueta, Cahill, Terry ©, Cole; Mikel, Ramires; Schurrle, Mata, Hazard; Torres. #CFC

good rotation i guess..will it worth it? I guess mata will be a bit behind than the 3 upfront

A proper LB and RB. thumbup.gif No Iva, with Cole and Azpi I expect better quality cross too. brows.gif KTBFFH!

To be honest, I think we were outplayed by S'ton. Our pivot not really stamping the midfield. Schneiderlin, Davis doing a good job for S'ton's midfield.

Oscar and Willian's sub really gave us more aggressiveness. Good assist by Oscar for both goal, superb goal by Willian. I feel sorry for Mata. :'(

Mou is a genius. Nuff said. Especially with his subs.

Seems like Mou is using this guaranteed victory to sub in Essien and give him some confidence. icon_idea.gif

Was watching NBC's live streaming, and their man of the match was Torres. doh.gif wadafak. For me it was Oscar, 2 assist, 1 goal, super sub.

Really pity Mata, his miss out during the pre-season really cost him. If not, he would have adapted to Mou's strategy easily if given earlier and more time to adapt to it.

Well, right now we can only hope that Mata will not cont to sulk and instead work harder to win back his starting 11 place. That is what all of us want to see right? Selling our player of the season for the last 2 season is a bit hilarious for me. Let's just hope Mata comes back stronger.

Haiz. I'm a bit sad too to see Mata reacting that way after getting subbed out. But this is Mou, no 1 has guaranteed playing time, and his new tactics require hard workers, it requires players chasing down and pressing when we do not have possession of the ball. This is something that is not in Mata's game. I will just have to say, Mata is not suited to Mou's new strategy and tactic.

If he decides to stay, good! If he decides to get a loan move, it's ok. If he decides to move away permanently, I bye.gif.

Let's just keep our hope up and wish that Mata's heart is still with Chelsea and just request for a loan move. thumbup.gif

And trust me, with Mou's style, he will not sell a player directly to a rival. So I think PL teams can forget about signing Mata. brows.gif

Imo, Mou is trying to play a high pressing game from high up the pitch. Meaning that the striker and the 3 AM needs to work and press the opposition when we don't have the ball. Something like Pochetino's tactic for S'ton. Oscar is a willing worker. Mata to be honest, is not adapted to it. Oscar and Mata both are quality players. But both with different styles. Oscar is more all round, and a runner. While Mata's quality is in his through pass, his vision, his pin point cross and superb pass.

So actually, it is a bit unfair to compare Oscar and Mata. It's just a pity that Mou's strategy is more suited to Oscar and not Mata. Sigh. Whatever Mata's decision it, I will respect it. This guy gave us 2 superb season as the player of the season. Hats off to him. notworthy.gif

Think of it as
Oscar - Kaka (finisher)
Mata - Xavi (a Xavi playing in more forward position)

To fully get the best out of Mata, we need a top top predatory striker. Some one that plays at the lines, some one like Chicarito. brows.gif

Both of them is good tbh. If either 1 is bad, how come last season our MaZaCar combo won us the Europa League Cup right? brows.gif

Just Mou's different tactical approach compared to Benitez that is benefiting Oscar instead of Mata.

I think our problem is still the striker department. We need a poacher in the box, someone playing at the shoulders of the defender, running the line. brows.gif Actually I think Chicarito is quite good at this, but his body build, hmm.gif not what we expect.

Just a wild thought, how about Berbatov? He has good hold up play, skills, can bring our 3 AM's into play. Just that he is not a runner. A bit laid back in his play I would say. hmm.gif

It's quite some weird problem we have at our club. Not that our players are not good enuff. They are all quality players (Mata, Oscar, KDB), just not suited to Mou's tactic.

Hope Mou gets it sorted out this January transfer window. thumbup.gif
