To all FLX MT owners if you going to service your car at the SC and if got change gearbox oil. Please ask the technician to give you the bottle. I need to know what;s the spec as V12 told me already I need visual confirmation again as I'm almost time to change my gear oil. Thank you for your help.

whats the model number again? basically only 2 specs you need: API/viscosity smile.gif

Fu~~~I unsure now....my gearbox 1st time change oil...since already more than 25K mileage not yet change.

From few different opinion and posting I saw here and in other forum owners saying the FLX getrag is using a different gear oil than the BLM/FL Aichi gearbox. I've search through the use manual but the manual there stated FL but inside stating the getrag 5MTT200 gearbox but gear oil is Castrol BOT something...but this is for the Aichi or Getrag?? not clearly shown...

I called to careline but end up I teach the girl about the different gear oil between the BLM and FLX. End up I got no answer. In other gaga forum all owners mentioned only green bottle for FLX but no one seems to know or maybe even bother to see what's on the bottle's label.

viscosity most common type is 75W90 API rating there's GL-4 and 5 but 5 has higher EP rating and Redline MT-90 GL-4 says can't be used on gearbox with hypoid type gears so now I also don't know if there 5MTT200 uses hypoid gears or not.....if I put in GL-5 I might end up destroying the brass syncros due to high EP concentration on the GL-5

Now what I know
75W90

Now what I don't know
5MTT200 uses hypoid gears? or not? (since Redline told me not to use Mt-90 on hypoid gear transmission)
For hypoid gear transmission need to use GL-5 not GL-4....I very pening now.... rclxub.gif

I can use others gear oil but I just use Redline as a reference.

referring here:

http://proton-edar.com.my/pdf/procarePacka...3(M)%20Saga.pdf
PW898003 RM3x/liter
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

the cheap one for BLM, GL4, 20k km OCI (lol? really?)

while FLX, getrag
http://proton-edar.com.my/pdf/procarePacka...0Saga%20FLX.pdf
PW898035 RM7x/liter at 50k km OCI
this SHOULD be GL5 and up specification

with the above, your GB may NOT be GL4 specified smile.gif
further more GL4 gear oil are typically dirt cheap.
using redline as reference, same viscos, different API spec GL4/5 respectively:
http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=46&pcid=7
http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=47&pcid=7

in summary, once you confirm the exact image/specification/viscosity for PW898035, you're set.
and yes, as i have mentioned, if the GB is specified for GL4, stick with it. Only those not specified for GL4 (basically 5/6) you're free to explore on those performance brands top end offering brows.gif

and eh if it's not GL4 specification (IINM GL4+ you can still go with GL5) you've got a WHOLE world of performance oriented GB lubricants for you to explore wink.gif

Now all I need is a visual of the mysterious GREEN bottle....

Advice for all SV manual owners.
Please make sure of your GB brand and also ensure that your SC is using the correct tranmission oil.
As you know SV is a rojak car
*
Ai~ they just like to make things conplicated and confusing to us. Just wondering the user manual for SV since Rojak car which manual they use? FLX? Fl? Blm?

but like what ruby said since SV got 2 type of gearbox. If the SA and the tech don't check properly and main hantam with the gear oil then sure gone case.....

If just layman term everyone mention Saga SV but I hope the SA and tech know there's 2 types of gearbox used if not really hailat.com.my for the owner. Once salah put in gearoil gearbox hancur I wonder will they exchange a new one for the owner or not or blame the owner instead.

Yup I got troll by careline. End up is me who teach the girl over the other end about the difference in gearbox type and oil for BLM and FLX. Her respond like she's just woke up from dream land...
"Sir, all saga use same gear oil no change"
"Are you sure? then I heard FLX use green bottle instead of the silver one."
"that's additives. sir"
=.='

I pity the rest of those SV owners that are not here. Surely they won't know and I seriously hope Proton management and their technical department will send out notice or memo to all SC about eh different gearbox because even careline don't know about it.....maybe we can go to SC and test the people there???

Actually the most important is having a boot.
I can't brain myself driving a bootless car.
Go shopping can put minister's bags  shakehead.gif , dog bag and food & etc.
Outstation can put luggage.

Got a colleague driving 1st gen mybi. . has 1 few yrs old kid and 1 newborn. .
he say last time first newborn still OK, stroller still can put behind seat.
but now he also headache when go out time. .
where the hell to put the stroller  doh.gif
unlike davidke20 can always put at boot  thumbup.gif
and IINM, the stroller, u like it or not, it edi took >1/2 of boot space ?

then i suggest go and buy this one at ~RM3k  laugh.gif

Don't tempt me leh....after I buy my wife kill me...

recently i questioned myself what's the function of IAFM actually.
*
IAFM is a dual stage runner it has a flap inside, the flap will change the air flow direction. Long runner for low engine speed and the short runner for high engine speed. Switching point is at 4400RPM.

In normal intake that has a single length depends on the length you lost power in high end or low end. In a long runner you gain more on low engine speed because the longer air intake can store plenty of air but when you go into higher RPM the air has to travel a long distance to reach the intake valve does losing power at higher RPM. So for shorter intake pipe it's the opposite. Shorter intake the air can reach the intake valve fast. That's why you see those running ITB their low end not very good one....

You also saw that before ?
I saw once only ppl using in MV.
Huge stroller but the husband told me, the charger is of no use unless you push the stroller very fast.
makes sense  laugh.gif
this is the reason why at 4k+ rpm, the rpm will sudd shoot down to 6k for CVT ?
Hence, the reason why ppl say got "2 stage" acceleration with CVT  blink.gif
*
I'm very into baby stuff now...since ownself got kids...Wakakakaka

Errmmm...I don't know say whether it's 2 stage or not but the transition can be felt. It broadens the usable power band for the engine. Normal cars with fixed intake length you usually hear they say car run out breath at high engine speed.

guys.. i think my gaga have serious issue now.. cant start since yesterday night till this morning.. now the starting sound is like this: wueeeeeeeekeeeeeekeeeeekee.. luckily the car is current at my house.. if i were to call icare for help, can they send somemore to my house at the same day? and if they are going to tow it to service center.. do they charge for it?
*
How is the cranking sound strong? Weak? If weak then battery died. If strong, then your crank position sensor kong.

If battery die, just go out and buy a new battery and change at home kao Tim no need to call tow truck

*
Then most probably ur crank sensor. Previous wira running EFI with crank sensor also like this sensor king car can't start because ecu can't read crank position.

Now myvi also fly eh

I'm new too, hello all the taikors
