for the flx se, what do you guys recommend to improve sound insulation? i can always hear road noise above 80kmh and motorbike or lorry exhaust sounds. it seems like there is no weather stripping in the B pillar?

ermmm you can try join the TT tonight it's better since you can see what they guys did for the insulation part.

Hi

Does anyone know why my flx se, the first 4 bars of my fuel meter can only go about 30-40km per bar, and then the last 2 bars can go for so much more (70-80km per bar)? As far as im concern, having driven quite a few Proton's before this (Wira, Perdana & BLM), usually its the top part/meter/bars that lasts longer than the bottom half. What could be the issue with my meter readings? Does anyone face the same prob?

Hope you guys can share some info on this. Thanks.

EDIT: the last 2 bars of my FLX is not including when its blinking.
*
Maybe reduce overall weight as the fuel decreases car becomes lighter compare to fully fueled up.

Btw thanks guys for the nice TT. Learn a lot...

Oh and ah Wai I manage to touch 200 just now on the way back short burst since you ask me earlier

um, what about my wira/perdana/blm previously? the norm here is usually more mileage for the 1st/top bar (when full tank) then lower mileage on the rest, right? Mine is the total opposite.

I don't know about FC much.....so don't ask me...Hahahahahaha

Step 3 Open the bonnet latch and secure your bonnet
Step 4 take out all your intake system (air filter box, intake pipe)
Step 5 look at the throttle body
Step 6 remove any electronic plug attached to the TB
Step 7 remove any hoses attached to the TB
Step 8 found the bolt holding the TB (3 IINM)

Yesterday on my way back saw a very spectacular highway drag race between 3 perdana V6 converted probably V6 twin turbo or Evo3 engine.

It happens along the Seri Kembang area stretch. 1 red, 1 white and 1 black..3 cars line up in rolling start and went WOT....crazily fast and the black was spitting fire on every gear shift but the race ended just as fast as it started. The black perdana engine blows. I was behind them quite a distance and just saw a huge cloud of white smoke then the white smoke continues until after the R&R saw the black perdana engine hood gusts out thick white smoke and the white perdana stop behind it while the red drives on.

Kenji, I know you would have go and chase them if you were there...for me I won't go chase...Hahahahaha......I know my limits....

Quazacolt BTW some info for you on the 1.3 bar radiator cap I'm using...it's the reason why I use them on all my cars.
http://www.tuneruniversity.com/blog/2011/0...e-radiator-cap/
I'm now on Motul Inugel Ultra Expert since I can't find WURTH coolant at nearby spare parts shop and the Toyota long life coolant price the shop sells is close to the Motul. These people really pandai up the price of toyota stuff....

kenjilew radiator cap I buy locally or during Tokyo AutoSalon.

Just a reminder to gaga owners who want to DIY change their coolant. careful of the drain plug as it easily fall off from the thread of the radiator I almost lost mine in the drain luck I put a mesh under the drain area and if you have release much of the bubble on the radiator additional coolant can be added from the reservoir tank no need open radiator cap any more plus if plan to flush the coolant out from the engine side try to put the top hose facing the left headlight area because of space the hose even after take out it will still point to the radiator let the engine run with a running water plug into the cap area and run the engine until the fan kicks in so that the thermostat opens up.

Anything less than 5% variance no need to calibrate la. Even our speedo reading from factory also got variance. That's why u see GPS always show slower speed than ur dash.

On the service interval, if worry about the difference in the mileage then service earlier then the indicated service mileage, my practice is send in car when it still have around 300 km to service.

My GF terms me a "car hypochondriac". Every little sound also mau hantar SC  unsure.gif

I'm your opposite. more sound better....at least can know which sound is normal which sound is not....that's why I no put extra insulation to dampen any sound that came into the cabin.....instead I go rip off some insulation....Hahahaha....So when I sit in other luxury car I feel more scary because don't know what will happen next since cannot hear anything.....

I like this one  wub.gif
Not about insulation and noise. It's about noises and sounds that appear out of nowhere that is previously not present. Also generally how the car behaves.

Like how I can tell which tire kena nail by listening to the rolling sound while driving....but only on the Saga last time.
*
but I think sometimes la, maybe is the sound was there already but didn't notice it until our brain suddenly don't know why will hear that sound. There's time with my PC when bought new I didn't notice the fan sound but after 1 day dont know why my brain short circuit hear the fan sound and thought it was spoil then send buy another new fan same one manatau plug in got the same sound....so that time I conclude that is I didn't notice the sound in the beginning....

some sound will appear out of no where but some is because we no pay attention in the 1st then suddenly heard it and thought is problem.... nod.gif

Working in toyota time, I received a lot of such complains about sound one some is really problems some is the owner didn't notice the sound when bought the car new so after heard it thought is problem so I usually bring them to another car and tell them to focus on that sound to convince them it's normal... icon_rolleyes.gif

for tire puncture usually you can feel the car pull 1 side if front puncture or car felt heavy if rear puncture when try to move or use the rear view mirror to judge...

But got 1 sound that I sibeh cannot tahan to hear not just on my car...on other people's car also...the belt slipping sound.....some is so damn loud. In front of my factory here got some cars like this. I put my no on their WS offer to help them solve the sound. They usually is belt no change or some half pass six mechanic didn't check the belt tension proper or not. I just fix for them....because every time they start engine the sound I can hear inside my office room makes me cannot concentrate my work.
