Nice thread. Wanna ask u guys here why my pomeranian the fur is not so pom-ed , its 4 years old and the fur is like "little Pixie". I mean the mane is small compared to other pomeranian. I post pic later.


Any suggestion to make the fur longer and more Pom.

Sorry for the fur can't make it longer or pom-pom course it have to depend the generation or the breed

hi to all sifus/ gurus/ masters ,

noob here with 2 chap ayam breed pom ...seeking enlightenment.. my pom should be about 6-7 week old by end of this week.

I would like to know how many time do i need to send them for vaccination huh ? relatives had gave them their first dosage before she pass them to me. Anyone kind enuff to shed some light ?

1. how many shot/dosage of vaccine required ?
2. what the heck is deworm ?

in case i'm missed out any critical steps regarding those pup health issue please do let me know. thanks alot !

btw which brand of dry food you guys are feeding your pom ?

Currently i'm feeding them with Acana puppy, is this brand ok ? as there's beet pulp in it's ingredient which i'm really concern because i read quite some number of review stating that beet pulp were a controversial filler ingredient that might harm the puppy.. hmm

cuz they are weak when they are small...
so need a lots of attention...

ur pom pom shouldn't be 6~7 weeks old as too small to leave their parent...
normally should 10 weeks old only will be given to the new owner..

anyway, 3 vaccination required...
1st shot at 10 weeks old,
2nd shot shall be given 1 month after the 1st shot
3rd shot is 1 month after 2nd shot.
remember don bath ur pet dogs for 1 week after vaccination.

then the deworm~
deworm is "deworm" the parasites from the intestine from ur puppy.
such as tape worm, round worm~ etc etc etc...
u can direct request from the doctor during the vaccination.
so you don hav to worry too much abt it.


dog food brand is nthg,
bt most important still whether ur pet dogs suits to the dog food or nt,
some may get skin disease or kidney failure and etc etc etc...
due to their dog not suit to the dog food.

dog food are seperate to puppy dog food, adult dog food , senior dog food and etc etc... so don buy the wrong one ya.
cuz is important for the nutritional balance and growth in ur pet dogs.

shampoo will affect ur pet dog skin condition and fur coat too...
so need to find the correct shampoo for ur pet dogs.

don't bath ur pet dog during the nite time.
bath them during afternoon where the sun is bright shine.
if nt they might easily gt sick.

let ur puppy rest more... don play with them too much.
and don't take them to high place...
cuz their bone are weak and still nt yet fully shape up...
esspecially the skull...

Wow, i don't know pom can be so expensive and many Pom's lover here. The cheapest pomp i ever ask is from a breeder and selling for rm1500. i thought that was overprice but since i read this thread, to think of it, the seller actually selling very cheap.

pom diverse to different quality....
RM1500 is cheap,
but have to look at the quality and bloodline.

hehehe thanks for the info, btw i did search unker google for few week but there's too much info on vaccine which is hard for my non medical brain to digest

anyway i just double confirm with my relatives, that they still haven't gone through any vaccine / de-worming.

btw I just send them to a vet for a 7 in 1 jab, deworm and some interceptor spectrum heart worm tablet.... hmmm i wonder why they are so passive now .. not moving at all. Is this symptom normal after a jab ?

As for shampoo which brand do you recommend ?
currently i'm using some cheapskate Alpo shampoo for them.

let them rest for a day, due to the vaccine starting to work out.
normally will be ok in the second day, so don worry too much.
make sure don bath them within a week and let them rest.

shampoo depends on how you think lo..
cuz i think that they only bath once a while,
so u may try a better brand shampoo. it does make different to the coat.

for me la, cuz i think everyday we spend RM10++ for ourselves,
y not spend less and buy a better thing for our pet.
as they are living things that need loves too.
in one week we may used up to RM100 for our living..
our pet dog's dog food the better quality brand only RM60,
they take up to 1 month plus plus to finish that packet.
means they only spend RM2 per day.
so, y not we save our daily spending and buy something better for them?

noted, will try to scout for new shampoo for them. Well i don't really mind to spend on them as keeping puppy is way much cheaper then my other hobbies .... i'm just not that familiar with puppy stuff anyway thanks for the help bro really appreciate it

#1 all system crisp coat~
this one is kinda good for pommies.
or u may ask peter for some tips.

that shampoo brand u can buy in most of da big pet shop..
pom grooming normally we only use slickers and needle comb.
we comb them~ cuz their coat grow till a certain length and they will drop off.

if u wanna learn more abt how to groom them into a ball then u hav to learn from grooming center d. hard to teach from here. haha！！

by the way, i'm juz a pom lover... cannot qualified to be called as sifu.
as all the knowledge i know is learn from sifu peter.

guys.. a white male pom of my relatives had been dog-naped along with his cage ! it happened 1 or 2 weeks ago...

well u need to comb ur 2 cute lil pom pom coat to make sure its grow nice ..
after 2 month ++(maybe 3 month) they will start to change coat,ur pom maybe will look ugly or not so fluffy for 3month ++ ... so get ready for it la
