QUOTE(Isabell @ Oct 6 2013, 04:46 PM) what i am saying is that you are trying to mock me just because i brought up the overheating issue. i have no idea if it is only me experiencing this or everyone is having the same problem. and i am trying to get an answer here. but you didn't even give me any advice and shoot me with "little heat won't burn your hands" wtf? so basically you're just asking me to shut up and don't ask any questions, just accept everything the phone comes with. ok girl, you think too much and u have a problem of extrapolating what a guy says and making assumptions on what they mean people like you is why i left this forum last year. i came back and face the same kind of people here again. so disappointing. we get like 2-3 of your questions every single day, and fruitie already told you it is normal, u bising apa lagi, its not gonna burn your hands right? i played games on it till the max and it still doesn't restart. all phones will generate heat when being used, just put on a cover and settle with it |

QUOTE(Reventon @ Oct 6 2013, 07:18 PM) Fastest now should be Dolphin. No other can match Dolphin. Only downside is you need to close by exit app everytime if not it will keep running on background. dolphin is good because u can long press back button and exit properly, others like stock browser and chrome can't do that, when press home button i know it is still running in the bg, then have to end process |

QUOTE(kuntakinte @ Oct 7 2013, 09:01 PM) Anyone having wakelock issues with facebook? Had my battery drained from 35% to 14% overnight even with data and wifi off and power save mode waking up 500 times is not the problem, you can see google also wakes ur phone up nearly 500 times.Installed wakelock detector today and found that among others facebook has been waking up more than 500 times since 10am this morning. the problem is when it does not sleep after waking up. cpu and kernel wakelock is more important to tackle. also go to WLD>menu>settings> enable advanced to show system apps causing wakelocks |

QUOTE(kuntakinte @ Oct 7 2013, 09:25 PM) Thanks but which program or service should I pay attention to ? your kernel wakelock is normal, tell me about the cpu wakelock. Past 20mins, I hv playstore opened 8 times, for kernel wakelock, power manager service on for 14min and mmc0:001:2 opened 21773 times for 17secs Which is the offensive one? you mention for the past 20 minutes, sso means you are now charging your phone ? |

QUOTE(kuntakinte @ Oct 7 2013, 09:44 PM) Not charging now. It's discharging, restarted the phone i can't diagnose for you now because either the statistics was reset or you really don't have any problem with wakelocks, the stats will reset when you plug in the usb cable and plug out or when your battery level reaches more than 90%, is facebook app still listed as wakeup more than 500 times? fb app wakes up a lot but it doesn't cause any significant wakelocks at the cpu wakelock if you noticed.Noticed this in kernel wakelock Powermanagerservice.display has been on for 22m in the past 35m that the phone was restarted. For CPU wakelock, its android system on for past 1m 35s of the same duration Thanks again powermanagerservice or any power manager related services is normal, it shows up as wakelock when you are charging your phone because a phone does not go into deepsleep when it is being charged. so it satisfies the term 'wakelock' android system at 1m 35s is too insignificant right now. if you have problems with battery draining plz consult this thread again. anything more than 30 mins after a day's use (12hr+) is significant enough to pay attention to. QUOTE(eszol @ Oct 8 2013, 12:44 AM) Destex and few people have the same problem while viewing darker image or while scrolling that issue is only when you have a pure black colour, but his screenshot does not have a pure black, so it's not the same thing.btw, taking screenshot would not reproduce the problem to be shown to us. Taking a video or picture of your screen will do about my issue, its widely discussed in xda and is present in the s4 also, its due to led not able to turn off fast enough when you scroll http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2462078 i find that the new 30mb update also tries to solve this problem as i can barely notice any purple ghosting at all if background white and black text in lowest brightness and even 40% lower than the lowest brightness. but it is very obvious if you have pure black background with white text as the text will turn purple at the edges. of course it doesn't affect normal usage where our brightness is not super low. a fix by using an app is also available, the app will overlay a nearly transparent white layer to make sure the black is not pure black, so the led does not off completely. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...anslab.sa&hl=en this is the app, just adjust the contrast to around -7 to -10, the lowest your brightness, the lower your contrast needs to be adjusted, i tried -10, there's no difference in screen colours, maybe because our display is already over-contrast in the first place This post has been edited by destEX: Oct 8 2013, 01:15 AM |

QUOTE(kuntakinte @ Oct 8 2013, 09:12 AM) Finally found the culprit for the significant overnight battery drain. To recap, I initially thought it was the facebook app that was causing this drain as it calls up more than a few hundred wakelocks overnight. But as destex has mentioned, it was highly unlikely the major cause of the CPU wakelocks because I still had my battery juice drained from 38% to 28% between 11pm to 4am with all forms of data connection off and fb notifications set to minimum good work googling and trying to find a solution after identifying the culprit. disabling location services is one of the method to fix it but it also disables other location based features like weather and temperature forecasts. if you like those here's what i did to fix mine, also got them from xdaRan wakelock detector at 4 am again and found the culprit - it's the NLP wakelock under Google services. A quick search reveals that NLP relates to some network locator and was then pinpointed to location services. Solution from XDA forum and it worked for me so far - Disable location services in settings - open your wifi settings, go to advance then uncheck 'always allow scanning' - open google now, disable location services there (xda forum even suggested to remove web history but in my experience, not necessary and I think web history is integral to the user experience of google now. Without it, its pointless) After that, my battery juice was a rock solid 21% all the way till 830am this morning. Seems like this issue affects android 4.3 significantly in the app list, open "google settings" app. go to location, disable location reporting and location history. go to android device manager and disable both both options. |
