QUOTE(SothysSaleShop @ Jan 24 2014, 04:42 PM) what's the % of city n highway driving to get that type of FC? ..if 100% city drive for that FC I will take it Daily travel from Puchong to KL city centre. City driving style except for short burst on KESAS and MEX.If fully highway, I'm sure it can do much better |

QUOTE(fix24311 @ Jan 24 2014, 04:48 PM) for preve, what tyre size suitable for 17" wheels? My stock Preve LE tyres is 215/45/17. Can fit up to 225/45/17. But still won't have your 2 finger requirement because what you wanted is too flush. Sure will hit wheel arch or fender when full turn or fully loadedi want it to be nicely fitted the wheel arch. like 2 fingers of space from tyre to body. proper example of how nicely fitted would look like is the 18" wheels on R3 Inspira. ![]() This is how my stock car looks. Next round I'm going to go for 225/45/17, wider and slightly thicker ![]() This post has been edited by mengsuan: Jan 24 2014, 05:51 PM |

Set the expectation right and you'll be happy with the car. If expecting FC of a kancil then teruklah. Actually too many estimates about common cars like Myvi and Vios that is reporting over optimistically because the owner don't calculate but eyeball on gauge and feel only.

QUOTE(matS @ Jan 28 2014, 11:14 AM) That's not bad. RM50 gives you less than half a tank @ 23.8L. Full tank is 50L. So a full tank gives you about 400KM to 480KM or more?If RM 50 gives 200KM, then you have 11.9L/100KM. Not too bad for traffic if do not drive with economic practice. If RM 50 gives 240KM, then you have 9.9L/100KM. Not bad for traffic at all! I had Wira 4G15 carburettor with 3 speed auto gearbox, Persona and then Preve. Maybe I set my expectation low. But guess which uses least fuel; it's the old technology Wira, probably because of its light weight compared to others. This post has been edited by mengsuan: Jan 28 2014, 11:27 AM |

The estimation is based on your current driving style. Will change depending on traffic and driving style and may deviate a lot

QUOTE(fix24311 @ Jan 30 2014, 02:20 PM) my advice, don't let your service km be more than 1000km of recommended service mileage, else you'll lose the warranty altogether. if unavoidable, just make sure 300km and below from recommended mileage. In tiptronic mode, the gear ratio is different from D. It's normal.something i noticed, my consumption is at 10.3L/km when i use TIP mode, but it went to 10.5L/km when in D mode. |

QUOTE(fix24311 @ Jan 30 2014, 02:24 PM) so better use TIP mode for saving? D mode is most fuel saving. Secondly is tiptronic mode. Worst is S mode.hey bro, know anyone who can remap the gear ratio for our CFE? i think current ratio is too early when it ask to change gear.it feels that the power didn't utilised optimumly when the engine asking to change gear. or is it my foot? Using cruise control will go into gear ratio similar to tiptronic mode for my Preve LE, but due to a linear control of throttle, it saves more fuel than D usually. QUOTE(fix24311 @ Jan 30 2014, 02:40 PM) mengsuan Maximum you can have is 225/45/17 without rolling your fenders. Maybe this rim is 18"? But looks like 17" actually.i found a picture of preve with rims that can achieve my expectation of (nicely fit to fender). what size of the rim and tyre u think this is? ![]() |

QUOTE(khairilyazit @ Jan 30 2014, 03:06 PM) Yeah.. i know that feeling... like shifting through 7 gears from 0 to 60 rite... I don't remember the RPM for 90. I think around 2k-2.1k?The ratio spread is too small... inspira ratio spread is better.. On mine i notice the cruise control like to apply abit of extra throttle... my right foot can get lower consumption at a set speed and not loose any speed... whats the lowest rpm u get @ 90kmh? Probably gear ratio changed to maintain the speed in cruise control mode, sticking closer to powerband allows the engine to resume to intended speed faster, in case a steep slope suddenly comes. QUOTE(fix24311 @ Jan 30 2014, 03:14 PM) well, if u know anyone who can remap the ratio, do share please! I actually feel very happy with current gearbox. I can tell you that I hated CVT before buying Preve, I have bad impression towards it. I became to love it after driving it.we need to utilise optimum powaah from this nicely built engine! I also feel faster to accelerate on D mode, rather than tiptronic or S mode. Btw, if you have to get so serious to change gearbox for track racing, get a track car. Don't use your daily ride. QUOTE(fix24311 @ Jan 30 2014, 03:31 PM) no la...don't want to change gearbox If you push it too hard, I think it will give more problem eventually. Since it doesn't run a torque converter to absorb those shock, if the pedal is sharply pressed and released repeatedly/regularly, I think the belt might slip. Some times I accidentally let go sharply and I could feel the mounting take the shock my driving style is rough. i just love how u can push ur preve, it still feels like it can give u more (like conti car, BMW for example). i just wants to confirm if the gearbox can withstand my driving style i don't want to keep my driving style and later needs to fork out 10k for gearbox repairs... QUOTE(dares @ Jan 30 2014, 03:36 PM) I still remember that TT (I think you were testing driving my 6-spd piece-of-crap?) where you expressed interest in the Preve but was so put off by the CVT Yeah, I remember that was the time I realised Preve can wheel spin. And so far I have no major complains about the car. Happy with it. FC is getting better day by dayIn a ironic twist, after test-sitting in your Preve LE with the new VT3+, it has rekindled my desire for the Preve/Suprima QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Jan 30 2014, 03:37 PM) Mine doesn't jerk when pressing brake. |

QUOTE(davidlow7 @ Jan 30 2014, 04:25 PM) No idea mate.. haven't been much a fan of modifying cars but I will advise not to modify anything within 1-2 years until you fully discover your car has no any defect/problem that requires warranty claim later on.. First time driving out, the average FC shows 14L/100KM. Crazily high but maybe because I'm also breaking in the engine whenever I can. How's the difference of FC during the beginning and now? Mind sharing? By now my average is 8.2 to 8.3L/100KM. Great improvement after first service. Regarding modifying Preve for race, it's almost like saying VW has so many suitable models for race but you buy a Passat for race. Could have just gotten a Satria Neo for race. QUOTE(ben3003 @ Jan 31 2014, 12:15 AM) I was given a steel mesh filter from my friend for my Persona. Sounds garang. Performance feels the same. I gave him back and say thank you.Using paper filter, throttle is still clean like new in 20000 KM. Use high flow filter, expect to clean throttle body regularly. True story. |

QUOTE(fix24311 @ Jan 31 2014, 08:08 PM) oh, excuse me. online thru hp, can't play the video at the time Oiled are like K&N, a thin layer of oil helps to filtrate. Works/Simota/stainless steel are not oiled. For oiled ones, I suppose there is better filtration but you need to buy the oil. what's the difference between oiled drop in filter and not oiled drop in filter? it seems they tested these two apart from normal paper filter I'm really not interested with aftermarket filters especially non-oiled. Some says it last a lifetime as it can be washed, take a peek at the filter material after some washes, it doesn't seem like it filters well. |

QUOTE(fix24311 @ Feb 1 2014, 11:01 AM) hi guys...the advertisement really deceived me.. Proton sells the Philips bulb cheaper than market price. RM18 only. So how much to sell a used bulb? Haha..was looking for bulb producing white light (like the ones in lexus or bmw), so i bought meself osram night breaker unlimited as it claimed to produce whiter light, and i saw it has blue coating, 3900K rate, and seeing adverts around it seems white. change it myself and voila, its yellow... disappointed.. anyway...changing lowlight bulb on preve is damn hard...not enough clearance. i think next time i'm gonna ask for professional service. at least they know how to properly disassemble other parts to give clearance or just disassemble the headlamp for bulb replacement. i'm not gonna change the bulb myself again. |

Caused by brake disc that is not perfectly flat or warped. Can claim if severe.
Mine had the helicopter sound when new, but went off on its own after ~1000KM |

QUOTE(13_baron @ Feb 1 2014, 10:19 PM) If you brake from high speed and the steering will shake together with the helicopter sound, like kru-kru-kru-kru, then it's severe warping. My Persona warped its disc when I drove up to 220KM/h then brake to about 50KM/h, instant helicopter sound with steering shake. Preve only had sound but no shaking, so I'm not going to do anything about it yet, unless I have the time to claim. |

I've checked there are none any obstacle in the window that let the wind up stops abruptly, but it still did. |
