Just now I turned off my box. Was downloading Lost Planet trailer (43% done) and nothing happened. Resumed at 43% But this maybe because I stopped the download first before I turned off the box but then again it could be something else

It was terminated suddenly? I got a tip. When I stop the download before I turn off the console, the progress is not affected.

What the hell? Just now my Lost Planet trailer froze at 43%, I stopped download, then started again, jumped to 52%. Then I try to join chinsc in COD2 but couldn't because I don't have the maps. So i went back to teh dashboard and then checked the download - back at 42%? WTF?

So now you are the chairman of the unfortunate club...

hmmm i think maybe because i shutdown my 360 without stoping the download so when i turn on my 360 after that the previous download progress all gone already.

Don't think you need to manually stop the download before shutting down. That's not how it's meant to work. I just turn off my console while downloading and when I re-started my console it just continued from previous %.

dudes...i got some tips...i've experienced this many time...
its very simple....
when u start downloading a brand new thing..it may start at 1% or it may jump to 50%..
the trick here is that if yours starts at 1% cancel the download immediatly and resume ur download and wait about 30 seconds..i will often jump to 50%...if it doesn't..try a few more times...
works for me...

that doesn't really mean ur download has completed 50% .. its just a bug...and it'll take very long to reach 51% after that since its actually starting back from 1% itself until it actually reaches 51%

but i calculated the time it takes...
the time from 50% to 100% is faster than 1% to 100%

ok confirmed already! after the dashboard update now for my active download i need to cancel it before shutting down the 360. if i dont use cancel download everything will be gone after shutting down. damn my rumble roses now only 29% already so many days. too bad yesterday the progress was more than 50%!

The new Spring Dashboard Update have a lot of bugs as reported at Xbox-Scene.

other than the irritating resets of the dl's, i think the dashboard responds faster...

hmmm from all the posts there problems quite serious also. i thought the dashboard supposed to improve our 360 but from my side here that update bring me series of bad2 luck too!

Midnight till morning? Try through the whole weekend.. mines been on since Friday night downloading the RRX demo. the brick is.. warm.. not super hot. by the way.. guys remember to check the air holes for blockages I was cleaning up my AV deck just now and as I got to my brick, hell look, the exhaust port (the side without the light) was filled with dust so I cleaned it out a bit.

hmm~ the update still not fully fixed because i downloading the RRXX demo at 32% and now drop back to 0%

Yes, it would seem like the download doesn't properly know where it stopped when it stops automatically, ie. power off or start a multiplayer game. So I would think the best thing to do is to remember to stop downloads when you're going to do those things.

In case you're wondering how to stop downloads when you're in a game, press the guide button-> personal settings -> Active Downloads.

so far its >48 hours already no problem.. touch wood!
but its in aircond room..

the brick is not hot one.. the only thing which is hot is behind the xbox 360 console where the fan blows out the hot air.. thats all..
