I have such weird experienced with different USB cables as well. Bought some cheap USB cables from Mr DIY store & it can't charge my Lumia phone  from portable battery charges. Same cable used from the wall charger, no problem. Switching to the supplied USB cable from phone or portable charger charges the phone without problem from portable charger.

Moral of the story, not all USB cables are created equal !

On another note, my Miix2 seems to be the least picky on portable chargers as per my posting over at tabletpcreview.

Not surprisingly. Nokia micro USB cable indeed is quite different. If you use Nokia cable on other phone, it will work. But when you use Nokia cable with powerbank on Nokia phone, some won't charge and instead detect mass storage. I think it has to do with the pin. Noticed that some power bank micro USB cable only has 2 pins.

if the software have x82 and x64 version, which one is better in w4. because the w4 proccesor is 64bit but windows is 32 bit. any different for this 2 version of microsoft office.
*
Follows the software, not hardware.

Your W4 runs on 32bit Windows aka X86, and will not run 64bit aka X64 programs. However, the X64 Windows is backward compatible with X86 programs.

If you want to run X64 programs, then you need to find a way to install Win8 64bit.

Hi...does anyone know if there is auto correct or predictive text for the W4's keyboard ? Thought I had read somewhere that it does. Mine doesn't seem to have it.
*
There is one, since Win7. Quite good for my 12'' Acer 1825 but not for W4.

Firstly it is a full sized keyboard, with page up/down, print screen etc. Too big for W4. Secondly, due to the Microsoft weirdness, you need to launch it from app list, called on screen keyboard. The one with the docked icon is presumably the newer one meant for smaller screen. My 1825 launch the big full sized one with predictions.

how u guys closing app u dont want to use including background running? is it using task manager to end task is the proper way to close? after 5 day of using i feel the system is not stable, everyday the system at least hang one time. is this the hardware problem or windows problem. i only install virtual mouse and meta trader for desktop and flash for mozilla. and app normally from store. when using google chrome, somethime there is no respond around 1-2 minute(at least 1 day have occur few time). is there anyone have the same problem that i mention above
*
Yeah, only by using task manager for Metro UI apps.

I never had a single hang. I think that sometimes browser or other apps that rely on Internet connections is somewhat slow or lag especially when you are tethering from your smartphone. I suspect the wifi isn't that great. Even with my home fibre, ok, but not great.

I noticed that I cannot pinch to zoom while using Google Chrome browser whereas I can do that with IE or Firefox. Is there some setting I missed ?
*
You can set Chrome to relaunch in Windows 8 mode if I'm not mistaken.

Tried and sadly it only minimize the app, not close it... too bad... sometimes want to clear some ram for AutoCAD.

For Autocad, suggest you pop in a 64GB Sandisk Extreme microsdxc with 80MBps UHS-1, class 10 and use virtual ram off it.

http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/10/sandisk-extreme-microsd/

It will certainly help when opening large CAD files. I do that for opening large Google Sketchup files on my end. Higher ram is needed especially when u need to rotate model in 3D. By the way I can really feel the difference between normal other brand class 10 vs extreme microsdxc. During 3D rotating, there is less lag time.

Of course don't expect too much from the Atom but it provides enough capability to do editing or viewing of design while on the go in such a compact form factor.
*
Enough la... just AutoCAD LT. Just that sometimes need to load a number of files to find the drawings I wanted.

Swipe from the top, when almost at the bottom, hold that position for couple seconds. There will be animation the app flipping. Then drag it down completely.
*
Yeap... Google double confirmed it. Thanks... a bit stupid on Microsoft side though. Performance penalty kot...

Have to adjust my expectations. The Acer W4 is a PC, and not a tablet with Tablet OS. But it becomes handy because I don't need an oversized iPhone or Android phone. Acer allows me to access to full PC functions.

Now working more with internet browser, than the apps.  Apps are too basic for Windows 8.

It is actually much better now than it was in Win8/7. I almost wanna bang my head everytime I used Win8 in my old laptop with touchscreen.

Damn, no wonder my Rapoo E6700 havent arrived yet. I forgot to choose the forwarding agent while checkout from Taobao. Now it will cost a lot more to ship compared to using their agents. Luckily bought it during promotional period which hopefully is enough to cover the shipping fees.

Hardware limitation most probably.

It uses the Broadcom SDIO module enabling WiFi and Bluetooth in one chip.

Oh yeah, for those who missed out on W4 offer, if you have extra money, you might as well go for Surface Pro.

Lazada seem to be selling the 64GB one really cheap... <1.9k which I think is a steal compared to any tablets.

Guys, anyone updated to v1.2 via Live Update?

Did you encounter Bing news, sports, finance crashing every now and then?

Update:-

I have reset my W4. After installing update v1.2, WiFi is so much slower and lots of Metro apps keep crashing. After reset, no more problems.

Keyboard? Mouse?

The E6700 mini I got is working fantabulously for my Note 2. It's good enough for me to hammer about 40 000 words on it so no real complaints.

You also get the E6700? Where did you bought it? Had to ship it from Taobao.
