I just bought Rapoo E6100 keyboard. It pairs with my tablet but keyboard doesn't work. Device manager shows no conflict & all drivers installed correctly. Then i pair with my BT mouse & the mouse works without any need for tweaking. The kb just refuse to work with or without the BT mouse. When both devices are connected, no conflicts reported in device manager. Any idea what's wrong with the E6100 kb?
The only time the E6100 work is when I keyin BT pairing password. After it gets connected, nothing works.
Shouldn't be that way unless it's reporting itself as something weird, is there any switch in the keyboard to switch between tablet or PC mode? (I only ask because I DID have a keyboard with a mode switch before)
If your observation is accurate, it looks like for "away-from'table" tablet pc experience, the touchpointer software is the best hope for navigating desktop gui and for using programs like powerpoint where you have to manipulate items around often.
In that case, the maker of touchpointer software deserves some donations.

Fed up with Win 8.1. The drivers are so badly written & unstable that make me feel like installing win 8 on the tablet. Due to my frustration, I deleted all the BT drivers under device manager & shut down the tablet. At reboot, suddenly the keyboard started to work. Problem was it cause me some embarrassment as I wanted to demo the problem at the IT shop that sold me the keyboard.
Nothing to do with Win 8.1 itself, there's just something funny with the BT chip that Acer is using.
It was a bit like the Metro UI app for Symbian phone. Make an app that houses all the new interaction apps while left the old one to the old ways. Thats not helping a single bit.
The reason why you cannot change the way the old programs work or even put them in newer containers, is that the old programs might be doing weird things with their UI which you risk breaking them if you did any major changes to the OS UI. And if MS behaved just like Apple and asked everyone to ask their program developer to update for the new OS whenever they did something like that Windows wouldn't be having such a huge support of legacy programs and applications.
If you asked me, I would rather Microsoft spin off one department to start fresh. Come out with a product that competes with Microsoft Windows and continue to evolve until it can finally overtook Windows.
But THEY HAVE! It's called Windows RT, normal users think that Windows RT refers to the OS that powers appliances like the Microsoft Surface and Nokia 2520. But to the developers Windows RT is referring to the new modern platform which is updating the UI concepts for the new devices and also consolidating them. Windows RT is in use in Windows 8, Windows Phone and the Xbox One. Even though it's not quire visible yet.
If you've been following and understanding the Windows Phone 8.1 SDK leaks, you can see that Windows Phone is already merging to become one with Windows.
Hmm... I had gotten the USB Ampere booster as shown in marauderz video and had the following observations.
USB Ampere Booster (3-modes type) and switch to BLUE Samsung 2A charger. 4 different kind of microusb cables. W4 switched off mode.
Still, not all cables can charge W4 out of the 4 cables I tried. Maybe it is still charging the tablet but no indication on LED so no point of knowing unless getting the Ampere monitoring kit.
Interesting.. when you say switch off mode, means just screen off. Or you fully power off from the charms bar?
RM300 more with half of the storage, and less warranty (Asus offer international warranty?) dont seem like a good deal unless you need the pen.
Still waiting for Lenovo Thinkpad8. Thats the one that really rocks... Just worried about the readability despite the FHD screen. Windows usually sucks at scaling, not sure why.
Oh, and Microsoft just lowered Surface Pro 128GB to 1899. Think outside will sell even cheaper. Might consider Surface Pro as well.

It's not so much that Windows sucks at scaling but more because some apps weren't coded to behave properly with the scaling.
Just remember that if you're going to get a Surface Pro you're getting more computing power with the trade off of battery life.
As of now, Im only using it for web browsing, Fb, Twitter, Playing videos, but not much on my work.
I also using it quite a lot for reading manga. Surface Pro gonna suck with its weight, but if Thinkpad 8 gonna cost 1.4~1.5k, I dont see why I should be buying a blardy Atom tablet when I can get a Core i5 powered one.
People call me crazy, but my job is all done on my Surface Pro and so far the only problem is running out of disk space, and not enough memory to boot the Windows Phone 8 emulator
Why an Atom instead of a Core i5? Got a few reasons - weight, like you mentioned - heat, though if you're watching videos using CPU instead of hardware decoding, ATOMs get pretty hot too - battery life!!
So long as the output current is above 2.1A, the power bank can charge. Many PB has lower than 1A current. Be careful with dual USB charger too. If u use both USB simultaneously, the output is still less than 2A.
Charging cable does effect too. Some cable can sync&charge. Some sync only. Some charge only.
I'm using an amp meter to measure the current, its really funny, you can get hi amp but it doesn't charge. Watch he videos. Yeah,cable also do make some difference.
Does anyone has any luck with Tronsmart T1000 miracast device?
i was able to mirror it using their proprietary app but when i tried to add wireless display device, no luck.
though the W4 was able to detect and add the tronsmart device,i was not able to connect it...
Well, I was using one of them Taiwan Miracast dongles, the one I used need to be set to Miracast mode before my W4 could connect to it. It should show a connection code when it is in Miracast mode.
Ezcast works but if i am outside then ezcast will be useless since i would need to do a hotspot from my mobilephone to provide internet access for tronsnart dongle and then connect W4 to tronsmart. My w4 is 3g version.
Did you tried installing the intel chipset platform to get your w4 to work for miracast?
I was able to miracast to the tronsmart t1000 using DV8pro but was not able to do so using w4.
I am wondering if i need to install the intel chipset platform driver from either dell for dv8pro or the one for toshiba encore... didnt want to trying installing these drivers as not sure what that would so to w4.

Hmm... you mentioned EZcast.. so I'm thinking it's the SAME firmware.
Didn't install any extra chipset drivers.

I still can't find old version acer w3/w4 keyboard in KL & Sel. all got no stock. Ask acer midvalley they said all sold out when they had RM99 stock clearance not long ago..
The problem with Acer is that they just don't have the supply going around for their accessories..
