Now trying to run PCSX2 on this thing. Tried Front Mission 5 with it (with VirtualGamePad for controls) and OMG IT RUNS!!1111!

But like Doom 3 on my Note 2, it's more a proof of concept than anything truly playable at this point. Maybe after a few gens after Cherry Trail it would be fully usable but right now it's pretty choppy out-of-the-box and needs some serious optimizations.

On the other hand, Homeworld 2 works perfect, though I need to set it up to run in a window somehow so that I can use a custom VGP on it. It's either that or Gestureworks. Though I'd rather run things in a window and GW doesn't really support that.

At this point, if I run it in Portrait it defaults to some weird sort of semi-window anyway, and I could play well enough with the extended touch keyboard + TouchMouse in float mode.

But still, mobile Homeworld 2 woohoo. Maybe I should try Knights of the Old Republic next, if I can figure out how to control it lol. Sure, an external controller would work, but what's the fun in that?

guys.. any1 tried outputting the w4 to external monitor? can it be full screen? is there any update needed? thanks..

Anyway, for W4 retrogamers out there, I managed to get Knights of the Old Republic 2 running portrait with VGP:

Apparently HW2 CAN actually run in full portrait window, through some weird hocus pocus in the Lua based game code. Yes the control bar and other UI elements get stretched weirdly, but it does work.

And for KOTOR 2, if you don't do the whole landscape-launch-turn-portrait ritual, it actually runs fully portrait with - again - only the UI elements going wonky; the game itself adapts well to being run in 800x1280.

That said, this leaves no way to use the Win8 virtual keyboard for text input OR VGP, so yes: Pseudo-Portrait Mode then. Full-Portrait might work with GestureWorks though.

The "donate" version of VGP (the one that allows for customization and stuff - aka the one you want) is $5. Plus as a bonus, the dev (or rather the maintainer) is quite quick at offering support, which makes that 5 bucks well worth it.

Updates for VGP are kinda slow though, but yeah... $5.

Anyone got solution on charging the tablet while using USB devices? If connect mouse/keyboard then can't charge?

Not for me.. trying to match the discrepancies are difficult without a mouse. But the touch experience with this game is super good.

Is there any good replacement charger for W4? I know a typical 2.1A charger will not work on this. And I saw some chargers advertising 3.4A selling $69, or an Aragorn charger stating 2.5A selling for $35. Will any of these work? Anyone has a good brand to recommend?

Just notice my W4 audio phone jack has become mono output. Try multiple cable and it seems it is the phone jack which is broken. Has anyone tried sending such defect to Acer for repair? Or maybe I should just plug in a Sounblaster  Play to the USB port and be done with it?

Anyone experiencing problem with the micro HDMI port?

Tried a hdmi converter, 2 direct micro hdmi to hdmi cables to 2 different TVs. Both did not work.

Could it be my hdmi port is faulty?

Nothing, the display is not detected at all.
Tried projecting via the side bar, same.

Tried using 1 converter, 2x micro to normal hdmi cables and 3x TVs.

Safe to assume that my hdmi port is faulty?

Hie today I meet a problem with the tablet rear camera. I checked the device manager, it said the camera got power failure. Anyone had this problem b4? can self fix or do i need to send it back for warranty?

i think just opening some powerpoint slides and web browser (case for a student) would be too demanding for this 1gb ram.
