For GK? There is more than 1 in this. Infact, i think the first one was from Johor. Completed around mid of last year in Thailand.

It is not a case of watching too much BM. Instead of waiting and spending on an L15B, it just makes more sense to have a 2l unit instead with plenty more potential.

Reliability is still out in the open. It is still direct injection in the end, intake ports might still be a risk in the future.

Anyways, one has to think if it is worth the money to get something like this. It will still be a normal fit at the end of the day even with it's 6 speed manual.

for K20A ,i prefer it was a FD than GK5.too much weight on the front for GK5.that GK5 with K20A confirmed used 2 ECU.

Any RS lines from Honda is just for occasional spirited driving.Never meant to replace Type R.

It is not going to be off by far. I remember the owner also had an EK9 with a k swap. It was apparently light by a little bit compared to a b series. With the l series, it is arguable. But the gk did not start out with the perfect weight balance anyways.

2 ECU would be the way to go if you plan to retain most of the functions in the car but it is not a small amount of work to get the wiring running. That is why you dun really see a lot of properly swapped ones running in Malaysia. Most done in thailand as they have a lot of kswaps done there. Even on their brios apparently.

Yes, but it is not worth it if the grey market jacks the price up. If it just tips the 100k marker. I'd think it is still worth it as the ge based rs costs a shocking 15k to get a halfcut last i saw.

So, having to pay 100k for a stock untouched car and almost similar to SSS would be acceptable.

Yeah, with almost 50k in play. It is actually more than enough to do a k swap in a proper manner (buying dc5 halfcut, brembo calipers and stiff like that) last i asked.

But it depends on what you want.

It is just a grey market JDM la. You get the latest engine introduced in japan and you get the 6 speed manual that is never made an option for us lo.

Other than that, the level of accessories is more or less equivalent except ckd might have either axed off what they considered as unnecessary or the same accessary is made or source locally to lower production costs

i meant reliability from the transmission POV . Engine, yes i agree, still unsure.

for me, jdm fit is way better than ckd jazz, albeit for a steep price, for new engine + transmission, bells & whistles and (probably)better jdm build quality.

probably gonna save up and buy a cbu version in the future.

You know the grey market jdm is most probably a 2nd hander right? And honda is in no direction of introducing cbu cars in local market due to cost issues. Remember the days when jazz can hit 110k with original modulo bodykits?

I trust the tranny has similar reliability as jdm units. Those are things they can't source locally. So, (i have yet to check) but suspect they are either from thai or worst case japan themselves. Some major ancillaries are still imported stuff. Only the small stuff like headunit, info display and etc might have been sourced locally.

Sorry for,the upside down picture...dont know how to adjust it.....but after doing the PERMANON coating we can se the water beading effect....so far we just wash once every 2 week with light wiping .., just a spraying of water will make normal dirts go away.....the best is after doing night driving.....very little effort to clean up the insect that sticking to our car bumper.....

Hahaha....yup ...the price is crazy as some of them charging btw RM800 to a couple of thousand....whereas you can do it for a quarter of it....
