The wife just got a new CKD Jazz. Love the design but the ride is too 'torquey' for my liking.

However light I throttle, the car seems to stick to 1st gear till 2.5k rpm before shifting to 2nd. Although this makes it more fun if you want to gun it, it gets tiresome after a while.

Or could it be an ECU setting for new cars (1 week old)
Btw, does anyone know where I can get rubber mats?
*
Too torquey...? You sure...?

Sometimes I can't find enough torque for pickup... doh.gif

Torquey might not be the right word to describe.
But you get what I mean.
*
Are you trying to say it upshifts too soon...? sweat.gif

QUOTE(TheSpecialist @ May 16 2014, 08:26 PM)
It does the opposite.
It holds first gear too long and the transition from 1st to 2nd is very sluggish. Pretty uncomfortable when you bob front to back.
I have driven alot of torque converters, none was this sluggish.

But if I gun it, the 1st to 2nd gear shift is smooth/alright!
My beef is only when I'm slowly puttering along. It just does not want to putter!
*
Hmm... Now that you mentioned it, maybe I felt something similar... I'll try it... Then again my gear shift very fast, like from 3rd to 5th... And when I need power, it downshifts from 5th to 3rd as if 4th is missing somehow... ph34r.gif

Well just went for my 5K service yest, supposedly free service but still kena charge 90 bucks for some miscellaneous parts bleh but after service its smooth and fast again.

I noticed that as it was nearing or reached 5K it started to be a bit more sluggish (maybe due to air filter dirty kua)
*
Where is this SC...? The last I read some other guy went for 5k service, got charged 80+ for don't know what parts... ph34r.gif

I'm going for my 5k service tmrw... sweat.gif

Jazz has not been mainstream for Honda, I prefer to wait and see.
Who know when it also can't sell like current generation and giving heavy discounts then only can take up back some sales volume?
*
Current generation last time expensive 90k, lots of ppl figure it's not worth 90k for such a small car...

I prefer Jazz not going mainstream... Keep the car "cold", less unwanted attention... brows.gif

Sg Long, Kajang SC bro

Currently at USJ Car Express SC for 2nd service. So far no indication of RM 80 bucks service parts. I'm topping up RM 30 for semi-syn oil... Mineral oil makes the engine feels sluggish...

QUOTE(winstonlight20 @ May 21 2014, 03:04 PM)
The SA told me that the price will be vary based on its spec, same like current Honda City
*
Sounds like there will be different variants of the upcoming Jazz. One of them should be loaded... brows.gif

just went for 5k free service, agree with sluggish feeling. After service, the engine is more responsive (not sure its placebo or not  biggrin.gif )
*
me after service 5k, still no difference... must be placebo effect...

Whats your average speeds bro? I normally hit about 110 - 120 on my way to work so I definitely noticed that pickup was a bit slower before servicing and it always improves after service. Same for my old City as well. I'm still thinking it due to the air filter being dirty and after getting cleaned it gives better pickup
*
120 on highways, 80 - 100 on normal roads… pickup improvement is only ever slightly...

Yes bro, petrol version. Got another forumer who just went for 5K service as well and he did not get charged anything for the service. I think its just the SC wanting to make more money (this SC I go to always tries to suck money tongue.gif)
*
Try other SCs then… I've got a big ass SC which is within 5km from where I live, but the SC I went (that didn't charge me anything for my 5k service) was like more than 30 clicks away… ph34r.gif

And I got them to service within an hour as well… I was expecting maybe 2 hours or more… Maybe becoz they can't charge labour for the first 3 services, then wanna quickly get me off SC, while they can waste more time on paid services - charging labour per hour...

*
So many people buying Jazz for wives… ph34r.gif

Please avoid Alza… doh.gif

on the net, buying a petrol is cheaper.

depending on usage, if heavy usage, i think hybrid's running cost is cheaper.

i'm currently almost 20k km, in less than 1 year...

may be nextime i opt for hybrid, given that my usage is heavy.
*
your current mileage ain't consider heavy... avg cars clock 20k km a year... if you clock 40k a year now that's heavy... tongue.gif tongue.gif

but maybe i'll wait till next year after u post your comments bout your new jazz here. biggrin.gif

If I were you I'll wait for the facelift version of the upcoming Jazz, say 4 to 5 years from now, let them iron out all the problems first... tongue.gif

That being said, I'm glad I got the current facelifted Jazz right before out of stock everywhere... Just have to pray CKD quality holds together... sweat.gif sweat.gif

I doubt high spec will be 75k.
The Thai version high spec is priced similar with City high spec.
And the City High spec is 90k+ here.
I dont think Honda  Malaysia so nice to Malaysians hahaha
Just my opinion  hmm.gif
*
I also doubt low spec Jazz will start from 65k or 69k onwards... More like the Honda SA pulling Nexsus' legs to secure downpayments. After HM done Jazz announcement, that SA will probably buat tak tau... Even if HM wanna price them that way, our beloved government will bising, and Mamak Kutty will make childish claims Potong cannot survive... laugh.gif laugh.gif

hi guys, any discount for Jazz (CKD or Hybrid) at the moment? What is the interest rate like? Getting a second car, booked a Myvi but actually dont mind stretching my budget to 80k if its worth it
*
Jazz Petrol, if you can manage to find lar... currently sold out... Jazz Hybrid, overstocked everywhere, I've heard some offering discount as much as 14k off their 90k OTR price tag... dunno whether or not that's on top of the free 1.5k worth of petrol for the raya promo...
