cloudtv...

i only watch a couple of news channels on cloudtv, free stuff.

this morning, found some nice changes.

the free channels - quite a number of new ones appeared for english and chinese languages.

in addition, many of them are now better in video quality, almost 480p which is highly watchable. smooth too.

check them out! wink.gif

Sure its not full 1080P but its of very good HD quality. CloudTV recommends at least 4Mbps, I’m using Unifi's 5Mbps and it streams fantastic with no buffering and doesn’t disturb browsing/downloading/youtube streaming on my other 5 wifi connected devices. Should you choose to subscribe, better you sign up for the Chinese package rather than the English only package. This is cuz, the Chinese package is cheaper and also contains lots more English channels than the English only package.
I'd like CloudTV to improve by adding more English channels and improving to full HD smile.gif though that might call for upgrading to the 10Mbps package.

Thanks for your opinion rclxms.gif .... am upgrading to 10mbps, porting from Unifi to Maxis. At the same going to digital mall to see some sample if they have and decide from there onwards.....

i had been using paid cloud tv chinese channel for almost 7 months.

my feedback as below:-
1) For hot channel like TVB it would give you some lag issue during peak hours like 7pm to 10pm but still watchable.. sometime need to switch to alternative channel to watch it.
2) Need to use software encoding as hardward encoding will makes audio to play on a single side
3) Some channels (especially movie channel) will appear error like (payment error, satellite not in coverage)
4) A lot source from HK are in Mandarin instead of cantonese

I am using 5mb unifi package

I've been watching CloudTV free version via MeLe M6 YunOS TV Box and Maxis 10Mbps fiber.

The free version has quite a few Malaysia channels like discovery HD, history, animal planet, HBO HD, BBC, etc etc in HD quality but the streaming speed sucks. I wonder if I upgrade to paid service, all these Malaysian channels will be included in the paid channels folders and no more buffering ??

i wont said without buffering, it will still need buffering but the source is more stable compare to the free version. the channel you list may work well as its not popular like tvb channel. you can give it a try as RM15 shdn;t the a stopper for you to try biggrin.gif

never noticed that! will check it.

however, i did not find much difference between software or hardware+ (the 3rd option on settings menu) as afar as smoothness of video for the channels.

yes try for 1month,rubbish apk really not suite for me.

not totally rubbish...

at least u can get some decent channels for free under free content.

i stick to the few consistent good channels incl channelnewsasia, bloomberg, natgeo people hd, discovery world hd. and watched a few live worldcup matches there recently too!

all that is live tv, not on-demand. for on demand, better look for something else....

No need, just download the apk from their website, install on ur device and you'll be given 24 hours free testing of all premium channels. If you are satisfied, simply subscribe and make payment thru card or PayPal. 1 mth subscription should be enough for further testing, if you remain undecided after the free trial.
