afaik malaysian infantry have already adopted the BIS (battalion infantry standard) since mid 2000s... our section size now is reduced from 12 to 8 men. that means that the average battalion strength is reduced from like 1k to around 600 currently
dunno abt AW tho. afaik jungle warfare 12 is the best. so can divide at least 5 ppl per fireteam |

like i said,wait till rmk-11
we've just bought 6 new frigates and possible new patrol vessels for MMEA and priority now is to strengthen Esscom. there are currently many things that were being bought just to beef up Esscom. but they are mostly low-profile procurement...armored vehicles, patrol boats, radar installation... but your typical forummers won't gonna notice such procurement...everyone wanted shiny, brand new figher aircraft or shiny, brand new MBT |

http://en.ria.ru/military_news/20131211/18...ighter-Jet.html Defense Russia to Develop Light-Class Fighter Jet MOSCOW, December 11 (RIA Novosti) – Russia will soon start developing a prototype of an advanced lightweight fighter jet to supplement fifth-generation T-50 aircraft, a top government official said Wednesday. The new aircraft is expected to be cheaper to produce and easier to maintain, but should also possess combat capabilities and performance characteristics comparable with those of heavy-class aircraft. “The development of a light-class fighter has been included in the current arms procurement program. It will be created,” said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, addressing the lower house of parliament. Rogozin, who oversees the defense and space industries, said light-class fighters were in greater demand abroad, compared to more advanced heavy-class aircraft, such as Su-30 or the planned T-50 fighter jets. Russia is currently developing the heavy-class T-50 multirole fighter aircraft, also known as PAK-FA, which will be the core of the country’s future fighter fleet. The T-50 is expected to enter service with the Russian air force in 2016. The T-50 fifth-generation fighter Rogozin, who first voiced the idea of developing a second type of a fifth-generation fighter in February 2012, said Wednesday that Russia has always had at least two types of tactical fighters that in general supplemented one another. The latest example is a MiG-29/Su-27 pair. Rogozin did not specify which of Russia’s two main designers of combat jets – MiG or Sukhoi – will be assigned the development of the future light-class fighter. ................................ hidup lagi ria novosti ne i tot mr putin already closed it down |

QUOTE(randori @ Dec 14 2013, 09:16 PM) Supposed to be replaced by made in malaysia Sakti 105mm howitzer a decade ago but I guess they found that the oto melaras are irreplaceable till now. sakti... made (more like, licence-produced) by PSC-ND methinkwell i think we should look for our 105mm howitzer replacement. oto melara have been used since....what, emergency? i know that oto melara is a great gun, being lightweight and easily disassembled into several pieces (as expected of a mountain gun). but other 105 gun have better accuracy and longer range, not to mention C4I capability some countries ditched the 105mm guns entirely, but for me 105mm still useful especially as company-level support weapon. the army have bought several 120mm mortar carrier i think |

QUOTE(kerolzarmyfanboy @ Dec 16 2013, 08:45 PM) well supposedly the HUErca HUErea Brasileira (Brazillian HUEr force) already have extensive mainainence infrastructure and munition for F-5Es since they've been using it since forever. similar with F-4s in turkish, japanese and south korean air force or Mig-21 in indian air force. these used F-5Es will be extensively upgraded by Embraerbesides F-5Es have lower maintainence and flight per hour cost than Mirage 2000s. the reason why taiwan and UAE are also going to ditch their Mirages |
