hihi,newbie here,ATP3 user oso...pairing with X-Fi music now...

to me its well worth every cent actually.i'm using an acer laptop and acer is well known for lousy sound quality.not like compaq which using built altec lansing speakers in laptops.i bought my A2ZS PCMCIA for 440 at viewnet if i'm not mistaken.

Is it laptop with altec lansing speaker sound better than usual 1?

very true i can tell u.at least the sound wont be so distorted than my acer.but then laptop AL speakers dun hv subwoofer.so u cant expect good bass from it.only some laptops from NEC and Toshiba hv subs built-in but they're from JBL Pro if i'm not mistaken

agreed, better buy separated speaker for truly marvelous sound..i am using china brand lappy and using AL 2120 and superb sound dude..

if u say vs2021 already marvelous....how about upgrade vs2120 to vs 4121....u will become crazy if u upgrade it...

my altec lansing subwoofer port that connects to the right speaker spoil liao.....so depressed listening to music and playing games with only the left speaker...
sigh....I've no idea what altec lansing speaker to buy...I'm a loyalist to Altec L

If wanna buy a good one might as well buy the high end speaker to enjoy to the max right? since i'll be using it for years to come..
But my preference is mostly on heavy Bass..
usually use it for
33% Movies
33% Games(C&C, Wargames where Bass is sorta like crucial )
33% Music(Mainly Trance/Techno or songs like tokyo drift)

What do u suggest? Which shop offers variety of Altec Lansing Speakers to choose from?
Budget around 400 ++ ...If the difference between a 400++ and a 600++ is big i think i'll get the high end one to make it worthwhile and enjoy for the next few years..
If the difference is so so only might as well settle for a cheaper set..

bdway,if use equalizer,does it damge our speaker???...bcoz if i use EQ, my speaker sound cracking a bit...and my bass got ShhhShhh sound...hurmmm...

Anyway, where is the cheapest to get Altec speakers now. Lowyat or other places like Digital Mall would be better?

i'm a v4121 user, play with av-710 soundcard, and my purpose is:
80% music, 15% movie, and 5% game
i'm planning to change my speaker bcoz the bass of v4121 is uncontrollable, it's too loud.
so what is the recommendation of u guys?
is atp3 good enough? or any other model?

if u already own Vs4121...dont look back to ATP3...see the price la...of course vs4121 better...

canot jz refer the prices...
ATP3 quality will be anytime better than 4121...form wat i tested...
ATP3 have nicer and more natural vocal which compare to 4121

may switch to edifier..is a good brand as well
