Blurry bass? Need Puncy upfront bass? Then i think other than klipsch GMX,  the bass from AL VS4121 should suit ur both taste...just guess only... hmm.gif

I think they means the MX5021's bass not tight enough ?! But VS4121 totally out of this, its bass seems like the woofer box got one big hole sweat.gif

I use vs4121 damn sucks,bass to high.

If you set the concert environment in sound setting or in whatever music player, the bass will almost 70% take over the voice or treble. Low down the bass level you will get better result.

the hissing sounds appear once i power on the speaker.
however it doesnt increase or decrease when i play music.
i have tried it at the condition where i unpluged the cable from comp, unpower all the electrical stuff, aux in mp3 player.
its still the same.
*
I'm not sure wheres the problem come from about your speaker, but if you can try use other cable. If the problem no change, than most possible the problem is your satellite.

Just keep it clean, your speaker won't become copper color.

what it means by cut cost product?

Cut cost MX5021 using cheap or low quality of capacitor, circuit.

Mine MX5021 is the cut cost version, not sure about the comparison between original and cut cost version.

The cut cost or not cut cost version actually use the same cap, SAMXON...only the "cut cost" redesign the amp circuit and satellite crossover which eliminate some component, maybe to "cut cost" or just simply "redesign", who knows? since no one compare these two version side by side...
*
One thing can comfirm that is old MX5021's sub heavy than new version sub.

Hello~ ACS45.1 user since 1999. Those were the days with acs45.1 boxes piled up everywhere in pc fair hehe.

Now looking for something with better midrange/highs in terms of more clarity. (Bass is more than good enough already biggrin.gif) Mostly music-listening, and occasional shows/movies. Thanks.

FX6021 can meet your requirement. You can test it a Lowyat Plaza.

You can get longer wire from hi-fi shop to replace the stock cable (sound card with sub).
Cable for the MX5021 satellite just need some below RM10 cable, no need such expensive cable.

I think your findings are well worth for discussing, anyone here want to comment on it? hmm.gif

BTW, i don't think you can get the heavier version of MX5021 nowadays...
*
Your MX5021 is heavy version or light version ?

QUOTE(junclj @ Apr 23 2008, 10:10 AM)
Actually both also have advantages. Nowadays, most seller sell the display carton version. It is easier to carry and more convenience.
*
No no no, buyer has no advantage in this point.
We're paying the same price for different quality of speaker. For those who own the light version of MX5021 was unfair... doh.gif I'm the one of the victim. cry.gif

refer to the pic of Faint, if ur speaker look like new version, then your one is lighter and 'cut cost'....
*
Yours one is new version or old version ? Mind share how you tune your MX5021's level of treble and bass, and any equalizer of your sound card and volume setting in windows ?! laugh.gif
