MX 5021 user reporting 
good speaker, just a bit lacking in the midrange.

Inside got 1 piece of 560mH inductor, that one is the crucial part.

I opened before and changed the wire inside.

Just got my MX-5021, still doing some burn-in.. Just love the bass when watching movie.. quite tight and accurate.. need to change the satellite cables to better ones as the stock ones really does sound 'hollow'.. hopefully there's improvements after changing it..

Anyway my MX5021 wireless remote control malfunction adi, don't know whether remote or receiver malfunction, i only know i seldom use (1 time/half year) ...

Can share which cable you changed to? I just bought the MX5021 at a recent PC Fair for my 2.1 home theater setup with a HTPC. Have not had a chance to set it up yet, and I hear the ori cable makes the satellites too trebbly...

Will it make any diff by changing the stock cable for the sub to soundcard one? I also change the satellite speaker cables only coz I dunno whether there'll be improvement of not changing that cable.

Only support for Altec Lansing speakers.

Altec Lansing speakers nice in crisp and clean sound even though the subwoofer not as powerful as the others brand 12" inch subwoofer.

The main purpose for choosing Altec Lansing because we don't want the sound deliver from speakers were covered by the annoying subwoofer bass sound.

AL is a nice choice for users who did listen for pop, pop rock, ballad music.

Altec Lansing really used to be very good, their older batch of speakers if you're still able to find them. The VS4121 and MX5021 used to be legend. I'm also used to be a die hard fan of Altec Lansing last time until I bought the cut-cost VS4121 which is really disappointing I would say. No offense it's true, the performance of newer batch of AL is really sux compared to the old one.

Pls post the results of ur finding here, really like to know the diff  I'll upgrade my cable if it really makes a diff.

Jimmy's is the old one, the guide on Techenclave refers to the new one. The ones I did on mine are similar to the Techenclave guide with the exception of a few tweaks I thought sounded better.

compare to 6021 ,  which is 9

I think I had waste my money to by 5021 , just only add rm50 more to get 6021.

yeah I change my soundcard to Creative Sound Blaster X-fi Xtreme audio, RM250, has improve listening mp3, about 50% compare to my audigy value, only 2 bar of my speaker i can hear loud and clear.. now it is suites to my MX5021
If you have mid-range speaker.. go for mid-range to high end sound card.

I really like my friend's speaker , he has the old altec thx speaker 4.1 ,
