Is the Transcend 220 a good choice? Saw one selling below RM500 with suction mount, 16GB card & 2 Years warranty.

But rm400+ can buy better specs dashcam d...

Yup, saw one at Lelong for RM495 iinm.

Do you have a suggestion on something similar. Looking for something with those specs - I can't read Chinese characters so Chinese brands can't be considered...

Yes better as it is a high end dashcam... I'm using it now... Very good... It's now my daily driver after my Dome D201...

My review

You can get the A118C with the optional GPS module... But the speed can only be viewed on computer using a dashcam player...
Xiaoyi don't have GPS... Saw some remax video in Youtube and the Xiaoyi video quality is wayyyyy better...
Buy in Gearbest.com with coupon code A119GBC, to buy the A119 with GPS at US$89.90
*
Thanks for the recommendation. Ordered the A119 (w/GPS) earlier this morning with this code. My first dashcam biggrin.gif

QUOTE(coolstore @ Aug 10 2016, 10:52 AM)
another tips for all dashcam users -

if using higher amp car cigaratte usb charger - total 3.1A output or above whereby using shared technology, means if only plug in 1 gadget it would get max 3.1A or above output, better check with your dashcam maker specification on power supply matter:

most cam spec read: 5V 1A power requirement
but can tolerate 1A to max 2.1A input (also depends on makers, not all can)

so the best way, juz plug to 1A port, not shared port
if shared ports, make sure got more gadgets there to share the power output by the time it power on

if always on 3.1A input it may spoil dashcam in due time
*
Shouldn't be this way. Even if the port is 3.4A capable, it would only supply the current as required by the device. Current is "pulled" by the device, so if it only pulls 0.5A, only 0.5A will be supplied. But if it tries to pull 4A, the port can only supply 3.4A.

No issues in getting a port that could supply higher ampere, but need to make sure the Voltage is the same as required by the device.

So what is the best dash cam in malaysia now?

Some good dash cams have good recording but their sun light durability is terrible. Park under the sun will either destroy the battery or make it overheat
*
Another vote for A119 - recorded traffic clearly

Lol this is in Johor Bahru. The famous Kolam air. That round about is  very famous having accidents.  I witnessed myself seeing cars crash and motorcyclist fly few meters ahead

Where did u get it and install in JB ?
*
Link was given by blurjoey before - gearbest website with coupon code. And yes, that's the infamous roundabout with lots of brainless idiots using it.

Dunno why but cars/motorcycles don't seem to give way at all there...

Option 3 will replace with a new mini0806. i dont think they allow to choose other dashcam.
Will confirm with support.

Option 1, they did not specify any postage company to send back. How much did it cost to send via Pos Malaysia?

I'm quite sure I got a lemon unit - saw a few people on Amazon having the same issues as me. I already informed GB on this, hopefully they'll either refund me, or send me a new unit.

I just found out about Youtube copyright. If you upload using Creative Commons license, anybody can actually take your video and post it as theirs. It's considered as Public Domain.

frustrated with gearbest.

im sending back my car recorder Dome D201 for repairing under warranty. now they claim that my parcel had been lost, and compensate me part of my purchase amount.

WTF.

im no more trusted on gearbest as not genuine product. feel angry on this issue.
*
You make me worried... I am also having issues with my A119 https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/a119-...-writing.26976/ and now submitting warranty claim to GearBest... I hope they don't do that on my case... They only offered me USD20 vmad.gif for refund if I don't want to send back for warranty

blurjoey bro, I think you should start a new thread, and ask the mod to lock this thread. First post, give links to your review and recommendations on best DVRs at certain price points biggrin.gif my 2 cents laaaa. Anyway, I got 3 A119s now. Really IMHO the best value for money for it's features...
