Would like to understand what are the advantages of Thinkware F200 over Viofo A129 Duo)?
Thanks again.  dry.gif

Viofo A129 Duo has both 1080p dual cam. Not true parking mode but getting there soon. Have Bluetooth for the remote.

F200 front cam is 1080p, rear cam is 720p. True parking mode.

Both are using capacitor and have wifi.

If install Viofo A129 Duo now, will the true parking mode be enabled (via software) once it been released? Or, need hardware change? thanks.

you need a 3 point hardwire kit otherwise it will drain your battery

I bought papago 360d dashcam.
Which has the features to take photo when detect any motion.
To enable this feature, the cam have to connect to car battery.
I am afraid the car battery dies if I parked my car and many moving things around.
Any alternative?
And I am looking for shop to install the cam for me.
It’s a front and back cam.
For the back cam, should I install behind the windscreen or outside my car at the car boot there?
Just afraid plp go vandalise the car cam.
Install behind windscreen can see clearly?

Any shop reccommend? What is the reasonable price they charge?

Pls advice thanks.

Does the Papago comes with hardwire kit? If got, can invest in those external batteries that use Lithium Iron Phosphate for parking mode but not cheap.

If not, get a Blackvue PowerMagic Pro or VicoVation PowerPlus as they have voltage cutoff and timer.

What’s the hardwire kit?
There is some wire inside and also regulator to connect the the dashcam to car battery.
Is this the hardwore kit you mentioned?

How much is the battery you mentioned?
Recahrgeable?
Or else I am thinking to use the small GP motor battery for parking mode.
Just that the size is not small to put in car.

Hardwire kit is basically to power your dash cam which would otherwise not be on when the engine is off because our cigarette port(s) are not "hot" (being supplied with continuous power. Some kits come with an auto cut off feature, say when voltage hits a certain low or after a specified time.

Your cable you described could be it.

Im not sure about the battery price but it should be around 7 or 800 or more.

You can see Cell link B or Cell link Neo for reference.

If you travel short distance then you might have to charge it at home yourself and yes they are rechargeable. The difference lies with the components as usual batteries should probably not be used in a hot environment (your car can easily hit 60 degree Celsius in the afternoon). Also why you shouldn't leave a power bank in the car, nor is it recommended.

Further reading indicates that it is safer and more durable

That's the emergency recording to save the video file to a folder.

Your computer is lacking the codecs to play the videos. Install klite codec pack or vlc player to play.

those who have A129 (or any other Viofo dashcams actually. provided link is for A129 ONLY, for other models please find the links in the forum thread)

you may try out these modded firmwares

https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/a129-...-archive.35826/

much better quality compared to stock, but flash at your own risk. Should be fine if you follow the instructions

Cause the 70mai app will convert it to a format that your phone and PC can play.

Direct play the file you'll need a player that have the codecs to play.

the instructions are pretty straight forward, will be fine unless you do something stupid like plug out the power half way during update biggrin.gif

happy with the image quality after the update, but currently my mic is picking up some static noise. troubleshooting with the members there now to determine whether is the fw or other reason causing it

I know how to flash. Cause the other day I flashed the official firmware for the pre-production A129 and it keeps auto shutdown after a successful update and reset to factory default. In the end, I flashed the beta firmware and no more issues sweat.gif
