Just curious and I know there a lot of difference between Z10 and Z30 but wanna know apart from hardware; is there a big difference in terms of usability and user experience?

Z10 is only RM700 while Z30 is double the price. Is it really worth to get a phone that's twice as expensive? Need frank feedback on this coz it's just playing in my mind that 2x the price for a lower spec phone can be a tad too much!

Z10 can do what Z30 can, right?
*
More or less there is.

The only thing that Z10 can't do what the Z30 can do, (actually there are some, but prominent ones)

1. USB-On-The-Go (only z30 has it)
2. battery life per charge (negated with extra power banks / battery packs)
3. screen size
4. Paratek antenna (better reception)
5. Audio input and output (the Z30 is powerful enough to be used as a podcaster's device)
6. better screen (despite slightly lesser DPI, the screen isn't as painful to look at, you'll get what I mean)

7. User experience is only affected when how one of the 6 items above affects your daily life when you're with the phone.

What's USB-On-The-Go?

Yup, read from forums that Z30's battery life is awesome while Z10's is poor. But that's not a big problem since most smartphone users nowadays carry a powerbank.

It's the ability of being able to read and transfer files to and from USB devices such as pendrive directly and browse the files, provided you have the USB on the go cable. It really helps when you want to transfer media or files, especially if your device is getting low on memory.

Java supported in browser, can watch twitch etc directly
Multi task very well, your browser or youtube will not pause. upon minimize.
720p is good enough. This is subjective though.
OS is good. Very smooth user experience.
Can side load android app. Also easy to do.
Swiping works well indeed.
Keyboard is big and easy to type.
Watching dota 2 over side loaded twitch is fast and bug free
Calls are very clear indeed. Improvement is significant
To be updated...

Camera is so-so. I have my nokia 808 as second mobile and camera...lol
Lack of accesories
Always on clock or screen, I havent tinker this yet
Slow boot up but uptime is good though, no multiple crashes

I'm just wondering..... I'm on Maxis and Maxis stopped selling BBs. If I buy a BB, will I get notifications for updates? Are updates independent from mobile carriers?

Can't help much with the camera. Some say better, some say worse, but its different than the one in the Z10, that's for sure.

About boot up time, its timed to be exactly below 2 minutes, or was it 1 minute? I forgot. But its "exact", no way faster and no way slower. Previously it was even worse, at 5 minutes.

Always on Clock or screen? Try the settings at Settings > Display > Screen Time out. Max is 5 minutes.

Yes, you will. But generally Malaysian telcos damn lazy to update punya. For example, I'm still stuck at .21xx when other telcos in Thailand and Singapore have already released OS .3147 like within 24 hours after BlackBerry put it live on their production servers.

For OS update just plug your phone into the computer and run BlackBerry Link. It will update it to the latest version.

If its class 10, then its your card.

If its not class 10, then the problem is its not class 10.

Hi hyperyouth_firepower, yes..I'm using Strontium Nitro 566X class 10 micro sdxc card. It is about the cards format? Currently my sd card just corrupted, I lost all my pics including my wedding pics...damn! Suddenly my phone did not detect it & it say my card got problem. Need to reformat to use it again. After reformat using phone (exFAT format), then my laptop can detect it.

If my memory serve me right, my phone format the card to NTFS. Thats why I wondering why my laptop can't access it. What the different if using FAT32 format?

if FAT 32, both the phone and computer should be able to see it. I forgot the very spesific reasons why, but NTFS is primarily a Microsoft-Windows thing.

Hm, just reformat my sd card. Right now it can be detected by my laptop, it using exFAT format. Its weird actually..the card come with exFAT format at the first place but my phone can't detect it.

Anyone experience using higher amp charger to charge your phone? I'm used to charge my z30 with samsung travel charger, 5.3V 2.1A. The first several charge, the phone charge very fast but right now it won't charge anymore with that charger. I need to use lower Voltage and Amperage charger only then my phone can be recharge back.

Anyone experience this?

I use my BlackBerry PlayBook charger all the time (not sure the V), my Z30 works the same during and after charge like usual. Just a lil hot than when using its own charger. Have you tried using the the charger to charge other devices?

Probably got corrupted?

There are cases where when you put in an ex-fat sd card, BlackBerry Link will prompt the phone to auto install drivers on both the phone and the computer for the ex-fat drivers. This happened particularly for 10.2.1.1xxx users and also those who jumped to 10.3 leaked.

I also try to charge it to my Z10, the same happened. First several charges are good, battery charging are very fast and phone get a little warm during that time. But after several times, it not working anymore. The charging indicator are shown next to battery indicator, but when you open Device Monitor..the battery only shown power percentage, not charging time remaining. The weird things are, during this time..the battery kept draining as usual!!

I had to use BB original charger to charge both phone now. Sometimes I'm using another adaptor with 5V 2.1A to charge it faster, this one is ok for both my phone.
