QUOTE(KoChun @ Feb 26 2014, 08:01 PM) What's the difference between brightstar and brightpoint? Both are authorized Blackberry dealers in Malaysia ; it is safe to get sets from them as both are listed in Blackberry site What implication would there be with BB device? Don't understand your question " implication" ???? It really doesn't matter where you get your Blackberry - you still need to sign up a Blackberry service with your telco to use BIS. And the telcos couldn't be bother the source of your sets |

Abang adik ? If memory serves me, Brightstar bosses consist of 3 brothers. LOL. here I thought takkan you lupa. Heck.
By the way, just make sure double check that its not STL-100-1. Mine is STL-100-1, (no LTE) and for some reason DiGi's signal keep dropping (can see the BB icon, but no data transfer LOL) maybe isolated case. |

I saw on youtube that the inside sim and micro SD slot is located differently between the 3G and LTE. LTE sim is by the battery and SD is higher by the top. I did notice some box do not have the Bightstar logo. |

I've a slight problem with my Z30.
In times when I restart my phone, it gets hang on the boot up screen (the square BB loading logo). It has been loaded up 100% when I long press on the logo, however it does not go into the main menu screen like what we see normally. I've to try my lucky for several times (more than 10 times, restarting it) only then it will boot up normally. Did give it a clean wipe, but this particular software problem keeps occurring. I'm on the latest 10.2.1.2102 OS. Any Sifus could verify this matter? Greatly appreciated. |

QUOTE(sukavideo @ Mar 11 2014, 04:38 PM) It doesn't matter what data plans & packages you are in, BB models like the Q5, Q10, Z10, Z30 are not longer locked with the BB Plan. You can use any data plans out there to get yourself hook up with the internet using a Blackberry that runs on OS10 and above. |

Any Sifus here has well suggestions on how to remove a stuck sim card in a Z30.
I was on a Nano Sim, plugged it in a Micro SIM Adapter, pushed it in, n got stuck in there ever since (darn tight i becha!) , guess the Micro SIM Adapter was too thick. Am afraid I would break those gold flints that detact the sim card (happen once to my 9900, and cost me RM400 to repair it at Wisma Kemajuan Brightstar HQ. Please advice. Many thanks! |

QUOTE(chidori @ Apr 14 2014, 02:32 PM) Yes. Worth it. More screen space for everything. In Hub, Whats app, email. Keyboard easier to hit. Active frames still limited to 4 frames but everything is easier to read. Swiping can be a bit tricky at first because have to swipe more to get the same effect (especially unlocking the device). But a day or two and back to normal. The downside (depending on how you look at it), is being unable to find any form of case for the device. Incipio doesn't have feather cases which I used for my Z10. So running the device naked, which interestingly isn't too bad. |

What's the retail price for Z10, Z30 and Q10? Thinking of stocking up a couple of high-end BB10 devices (as backup devices) before they disappear from the market.
Seeing as how Blackberry doesn't have high end BB10 devices in the pipeline. |

I only manage to find bumper case in Lowyat![]() |

QUOTE(hyperyouth_firepower @ Oct 23 2013, 09:45 AM) Nokia MS strategy is different. All other OEMs for Android, with exception of Google, runs on economy of scale. Especially the fact that the core OS itself doesn't need much R&D, since Google has done most of the heavy lifting for them. Not to say that they don't have costs, just not as high as how Google has to pay. On the other hand, Google doesn't need to sell their Nexus with profit. They sell it with near-zero margin. Where does Google earn their money? By profiling users. Ads, profiles, etc. BlackBerry sells I think less than 3M BB10 per quarter, and from their quarter reports, from January indicates that they have produced about (that's assuming 90 days is considered a quarter, give and take). Therefore BlackBerry does not enjoy the economy of scale to mass produce even the low end on low prices) I don't think BlackBerry can lower their price point at this stage even if they wanted to. With recent news of their hardware partners unable to produce due to low demand, I think if BlackBerry wants to achieve the economy of scale with or without profit they'll need to b) elect or partner with new hardware vendor that can meet up with BlackBerry's super strict QA on security (they have some very strict QA on their products in their factories, its a well known fact) yet achieve the economy of scale. c) make deals with Qualcomm so that they won't lose out being first partners. Or, jump to Intel? (In the past the deal with TI-OMAP used to be very good, until TI-OMAP suddenly reversed its decision and abandoned the SoC market, and decided to only focus on the embedded chipset market, much to the chagrin of BlackBerry (where they have to re-code the entire thing from scratch) QUOTE(hyperyouth_firepower @ Jan 2 2014, 07:36 PM) If you compare it with Moto X, yeah. you, sir, are a lord in explaining all these technicalities But for the fact that its one of the phones that can piggyback BB10 and Android OS, its quite the bargain actually. |
