did you mean these?

Acer

dont see the use of touch screen monitors, so basically less recommended for users except if some peoples do need it.

Guys, i am looking for recommendations of an Ultrabook. Budget is Rm3500-RM4000 max.

Requirements : 1) Must be light (less than 2kg if possible)
                        2) Slim (stylish also if possible)
                        3) Processor i5 Haswell or better
                        4) No need dedicated GPU, Intel HD 5000 will do

Please recommend me Windows based ultrabook smile.gif

Thanks  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

dear sir, the only that closest to your requirement is this :

Apple
MacBookAir 11", i5-4250U + Intel HD5000 + 256GB SSD@RM3599[1.08kg], 4GB, backlit keyboard, Mac OSX
MacBookAir 13", i5-4250U + Intel HD5000 + 256GB SSD + (1440x900)@RM3899[1.35kg], 4GB, backlit keyboard, Mac OSX

other wise, you can look at these :

Sony
Vaio SVP13213SGS, i5-4200U + Intel HD4400 + 128GB SSD + (1920x1080)@RM3799[1.06kg], 4GB, W8SL
XPS12, i5-4200U + Intel HD4400 + 128GB SSD + (1920x1080;touch)@RM3999[1.52kg], 4GB, W8SL, backlit, spill resistant keyboard, build-in battery, no ODD

I heard msi is not good as what they advertise? hmm.gif

because MSI mainly aim towards gamers, while less options for consumer usages.
and FYI, all brands are just the same. no matter where you go, there is a risk of getting a touch wood unit. so it really depends on luck some times.

QUOTE(gkselvi107 @ Oct 1 2013, 10:14 AM)
Hi, thanks for your previous reply. I read reviews on this laptops but i7 sounds a bit high-end for me. What if I change my requirements as below:
1) within my budget I would like to extend warranty
2) not opting for touchscreen
3) optical drive is necessary as I occasionally will use it. But if can get external dvd burner for a cheaper price then might consider laptop without optical drive.
4) weight of the laptop is also a concern as I will carry it from office to class and vice versa.
5) I'm not sure if I need SSD since there's huge difference in term of capacity. Maybe in future I can upgrade if prices drop. But please enlighten me if mSATA+HDD option will be advantages to me in term of performance or weight and so on.
6) bigger screen is priority.

Thanks in advance again for your time and advice.  smile.gif
*
1. Extending the warranty to 3 years cost about RM300 (differs on branding, due to their services). If you are buying a Dell, you will get a promotional offer, 3 years Pro support (best) for RM259.
2. The i7 on the Acer and Dell is not a high-end i7, it is an ultra low voltage i7, which is dual core rather than the quad core on the Lenovo Y510p.
3. The Dell and Lenovo I recommended doesn't have touch screen.
4. 90% of 15" models do come with DVD-RW. For external optical drives, you can get them around RM99 - RM119 (negotiate for cheaper price).
5. mSATA SSD = SATA SSD. The performance differ from branding and technology used. mSATA+HDD is a good option but most Haswell laptops use half-size mSATA than standard size mSATA. Have to remove the bottom cover to identify the size of the mSATA slot and screw area. So basically, if you dont store lots of data, you can get a 256GB SSD for RM6xx. Prices vary from branding, warranty duration and technology.

since you wanted lightweight laptops, perhaps you can consider these :

ASUS
S551LB-CJ120H, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M@RM2699[2.4kg], 4GB, 750GB, W8, 3-cell

Dell
Vostro 5560, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT630M@RM2349[2.2kg], 4GB, 750GB(5400rpm), W8, ODD
Vostro 5470, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M@RM2249[around 1.6kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W8, 3-cell (14" model)

Toshiba
Satelite L50-A107X/XW, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M@RM2499[2.4kg], 4GB, 1TB, W8; colors: Silver/white

Lenovo
Z510T, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M + (1366x768, touch)@RM2599[2.2kg], 4GB, 1TB, backlit, W8; 2 yrs
