1. Reliable brand
2. Below RM3000, lower the better!
3. Programming: Visual Studio, Web Server(Apache) on Machine. Seldom play game, but might wish to play.
4. 14" Not Touch. I've a 23" desktop monitor.
5. Weight and battery is not important. (Pluged in all the time)
6. I will upgrade the RAM to 8GB if it comes with 4GB. Prefer I5 or I7 quad core. High spec 2 core can consider as well.

Thanks for help! biggrin.gif

hi,
I would like to know is the quad core only avialble in i7 in the current notebook market (price less than RM3000)?
*
Yes, if you are talking about Intel CPU for laptop, then quad core is only found with i7 with (MQ, QM, HQ ... (Q stand for quad core) suffix).

"If you could not find S410P for example, looking at the S400 is pretty close to get a feel." what you mean is read on review of S400? there is S410P in computer shops here, the only problem is looking for review of it online. i have googling many times already, found only sellers selling this, no any reviews available. can you please give me the link of the review you found online? thanks.
*
No, I mean the S410P look and feel more or less the same as S400 in terms of build, size, weight ...
As for reading review of S400, giving indication of S410P

Will:
look, keyboard, wireless, speaker, touchpad, webcam

Will not:
touchscreen, screen quality, battery running time, temperature

And there is no review out there yet from the sources I like tongue.gif

Brand:Any
Budget: <2000
Usage: Game programming (i hear that nvdia is better for work like making 3D games and photoshop)
Screen size: 14/15

I preferred a sturdy one since i'm gonna use it alot. Thanks. biggrin.gif

Asus has the worst warranty support in Malaysia at the moment, so its best to avoid buying one. Or if you insist, make sure the unit is working 100%, and pray that it doesn't spoil within 2 years laugh.gif

If strictly Asus and Lenovo only, can consider the following:
14
Asus K46CB-WX060H, i5-3337U + Nvidia GT740M@RM2199[2kg], 2GB, 750GB, W8, 4-cell, OD

Lenovo
Z400, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT740M@RM2099, 4GB, 1TB, W8; 2 years warranty; colors: chocolate *EOL-ed
Z400 touch, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT740M + (1366x768, touch)@RM2199, 4GB, 1TB, W8; 2 years warranty

15.6
Lenovo Z500, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT740M@RM2299[2.2kg], 4GB, 1TB, backlit, W8; 2 years warranty

If other brands, then perhaps these:
14"
Dell Inspiron 14R, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M@RM1849 [2.32kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), Linux, 6 cell; W8@RM2049

15"
Dell Inspiron 15R, i5-3210M + AMD HD7670M@RM1899[2.65kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W7HP/W8

Dell offers the best warranty service in Malaysia, provided you are covered laugh.gif
So make sure to fork out ~Rm250 to extend the warranty to 3 years, otherwise no point getting a Dell icon_rolleyes.gif

No problem man laugh.gif
The prices given to you is RRP, so you'll probably be able to get discounts of around RM50- RM100 for those notebooks.
If you are around KL/PJ, perhaps can try and find these online sellers here? devour, storm88 There are many other sellers in Garage Sales as well, just head over and have a look, some really offers pretty good prices thumbup.gif

Lenovo notebooks are pretty okay nod.gif
Most of them come with 2 years warranty as standard as well nod.gif
But do take note that the Z400 is a bit tough to upgrade i.e. RAM and HDD nod.gif

Aiya, just because one particular Toshiba model you had got hot doesn't mean all Toshiba notebooks are like that laugh.gif
All notebooks will get hot when on load, especially so after a few months or years when the dusts clogs the internal fan and heat sinks (like how dust clogs your house fan). If you don't clean them up, the cooling efficiency will go down, and your notebook will become a frying pan nod.gif

One of the best way to know whether the heat is bearable to you is to try it out on the spot yo nod.gif

I suppose the temps should be alright with proper ventilation and maintenance hmm.gif
