But I don't have.. after service at SC, they didn't stick the sticker for me? Is it important?

What's your remaining warranty duration? They should have replaced a sticker for you.

Good ol Note 2 still running its course. 1 year old and the battery still amazes me.
*
Yep that's the good thing, and not forgetting that since warranty is probably over, flash to your heart's content.

Ditto Note 3 ROM is pretty fantastic, giving you almost all Note 3 features.

Department of Paranoia

Smartphones use a second CPU and second operating system in their baseband modems
http://www.androidauthority.com/smartphone...cond-os-317800/

.....
Security Vulnerabilities

The problem is that like all software there are bugs in the operating systems used by the baseband modem makers. If there are bugs then there are security vulnerabilities. If there are security vulnerabilities then there is a doorway for hackers to get in.....

......
With the recent NSA / Snowden revelations I shouldn’t be surprised if somewhere in the future we find out that governments have been exploiting vulnerabilities in baseband processors to listen to phone conversations and track the whereabouts of persons of interest!

I haven't been following the DN3 thread, but I believe the later versions have the nasty bootloader. Well, we're out of warranty, so not that it really matters, but then again........ mad.gif

We've been on 4.3 using custom roms for about a month now. Pretty good experience so far, and the bonus of Note 3 stuff is mostly there.

Is your Note 2 still under warranty? If not then just flash a custom ROM.

dr ketan and his self mod packs !!! Great idea !!! This is the true spirit of open source collaboration and giving.

If it can come as a pre-packaged flashable zip for MK4 then it will be ridiculously easy to patch stock 4.3.

I wonder why people here doesn't read the instructions on XDA and ask for help here and like "HOW TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS??!!!"  lol. No offence in any means but yeah stop asking something that is already there!!!!!

@edan1979 philz recovery not good? Never used TWRP before, how does it look like. Same features as Philz?

DN3 v3 stable version coming out tonight?

Samsung is just forcing people to upgrade phone every year. This is what they thinks: if you want the new features on the note 3, upgrade your phone. Your warranty is probably put anyways. Oh btw, we forgot to tell you if you root your brand new note 3, we will know and your warranty is gone no matter how many times you use your triangle away. When it breaks you have to buy a new phone instead of repairing it because repairing cost is the same as a new one. Introducing Samsung Knox, a piece of program that makes us more money than before.
*
Good post.

There ARE valid technical and security reasons why Knox is important so I don't blame Samsung for implementing it. It is the nature of the security beast which makes Knox so "evil" in the eyes of non-enterprise users.

However, they could have provided a sort of one-off option at least to turn Knox off without voiding warranty, much like MS Office downgrade rights where you can install a lower version once.

But still, as a consumer, I do hate the restrictions placed on what I can do with my device to retain warranty.

Do remember that Security and Convenience are opposite ends of a spectrum, so it is hard to find a middle ground that keeps everyone happy.

Hopefully more manufacturers realise that as stupid as it might seem, the "painfully obsolete" stylus HAS it's uses, especially when you stick an active digitizer into the package.

Being able to easily scribble notes while on the phone by simply removing the S-Pen might just be one of the greatest hidden pleasures I have experienced throughout my life as a gadget geek.
*
+100

Actually I have ALWAYS wanted a portable, pocketable active digitizer device ever since the first styli devices were produced. Then, the resistive styli always had a bad problem with palm rejection. Active digitizers at the time were only available on 12" and larger notebooks, and it was horrendously expensive.

That's also why I am very much aware if any self-styled "stylus capable/included" device truly has palm rejection capabilities or not.

When the Note 1 arrived at its price point WITH an active digitizer, I took the plunge and never looked back.

Interesting question: Does the Air Command feature  depend on the TW launcher? Because I don't really use TWL at all.
*
Nope. Works on Nova.

I'm still on DN3 1.0, so I understand you need to click and hover for about 2 secs before the Air Command window shows up. Is this still the case in v3 ?

So quick question : the above means it's better for me to stay on 4.1.2 N7100DXDMF2 if I want to flash DN# v3 later ?
Damn I "hate" you guys liaoz~!!! wish my warranty would expire soon~!! tongue.gif
*
If u stay on 4.1.2 bootloader it can still be manipilated by triangle away. The later ones can't.

guys, mind to ask? my note 2 seems have a problem with the screen. I accidentally spilled milk on it and then suddenly the screen blanked, Other functions are perfectly fine except for the screen.

My friends recommended that I should change the screen. But the price is way to high and it seems not worth for me. Any suggestion?
*
Awwww......no hope bro. Fluids and electronics don't mix. Should be RM650 or so. It might even have seeped onto the motherboard. You can ask SC to clean the phone for you, and maybe sell it for parts.
