Sony never own the japanese market in japan . It has always been Sharp and Fujitsu and recently , Sony is having a tough time from NEC . In fact , Sony have a tough time to be in the top 3 recently . In fact , those brands are so successful in Japan they didnt even bother "exporting" their devices out of Japan


As mentioned above , Sharp , Fujitsu , NEC , Panasonic

Now i only know Sony not TaiKoh in Japan.

Sony never is. Sony is second grade in Japan according to my friend that stay at Japan at least 4 years already.

Sony is the only Japan brand that sell worldwide. Sony still is 1st branded from Japan in Worldwide market.

Sharp & Fujitsu is mainly selling phone for it own country - Japan only.

Japanese people support their own brand, is like how we support Proton and Peroduo in Malaysia.

Any product who are not best seller in their own backyard will not do well in other countries.

Yup, like my friend said even though Apple is famous in Japan, but the total user usage is some sort like 25% only. 70% users still support Japan brand phone and the extra 5% is for others brand like Samsung, HTC & Motorola.

SOny does not conquer Japan market doesn't mean it did not produce premium product.. user can judge by the quality of their product.. take a look at their TV's and other home equipments.. Walkman was here since long time ago..in terms of music player, Sony is far better than Samsung.. try compare Samsung Player with Walkman.. Samsung player

Sony can't conquer Japan market because Sony in any product always one step behind in Japan, after I flip thru those telco site, I also feel that

Japan long ago got water resistance or waterproof phone before Sony use it.

Japan Fujitsu phone already got same idea of iPhone 5S finger print sensor but Sony never have yet.

The only Sony win now is using latest S800 chipset in phone for XZU and Z1 but both phone is not selling at Japan.

All Japan phone use quite outdated processor, always one step behind for this.

Base on my friend in Japan said, no one is interested with Sony TV also as Sony is really a second grade in Japan. People there more fancy with Sharp or Panasonic TV instead of Sony.

And Sony sales never good in Japan if compare with others brand in electrical + mobile.

Korean brand can't really sell there beside Japan support own product, Japan also quite hate Korean brand especially Samsung - my friend said one.

Ya, how much... would really like to know. Hopefully it would be an indicator for SN3
If it's the right price, might consider SN3 with Dual Sim

haha.. ya, maybe in terms of smartphone.. i also have my first Sony android, XZU, before this was not interested.. in terms of innovative design and material, as well as specs, i still think XZU is the best out there, as of for now, perhaps. but its just some glitches here and there, especially on Sony's UI and that shit sheet.. other than that, its undeniable XZU is an awesome product.. the display technology, no one can match now, even Note 3 i think… oppsss.. wrong said in Note 3 thread.. larikkk..

Never mind, Sony can't win in any electrical + Mobile in Japan. It is same. hehe...

Interesting thread, so now we know:

1. Sony is not top dog in Nippon, and its products are somewhat meh
2. that fruit product is total meh except for 64 bits which is only going to be useful around 18 months down the road
3. Samsung is still top dog globally due to its fantastic products and features lineup

I want to qualify that I am no fanboi of any stripe, and that I'm with Samsung coz they have what I want. I used to go with Nokia, and almost got an XZU except it failed in one area I wanted badly.
