iPhone 5S = Same

But no deny the 5S - GOLD color look solid beauty, and premium, and that new Sapphire Crystal button is cool.

Cheap = Cheap look and Cheap material use.

Yet you will still see buyers queue up to buy it. It is after all an Apple! I have used all the iPhone series till ip5 n yet none of them ever impresses me. All this talk of smoothness is just an illusion as Apple knows once they allow widgets n 3rd party launcher interference they will lose their edge. I was so crazy that I paid rm1000 extra premium for the very first iphone.

5s pricing is probably high to recover the r&d costs for the 64 bit cpu but if you look at how intel prices their stuff, new architecture fits in at the same price points of the old architecture while they quickly deprecate the old one.

Maybe they think the faithful will open their mouths wider to swallow a longer register....

Err...yes, I do know about the register length etc. Just that RAM addressing is the most visible manifestation, at least where Intel is concerned. I have read that ARM has the extended addressing mode that allows 48bit addressing on current 32bit CPUs, but if we get native 64 bits, then I suppose it makes sense that addressing is also fully 64bits.

The fetch and decode will depend on pipelining etc etc and whole volumes are available on the subject.

However I still think that this is the dawn of 64 bit development for mobile, since the mindset of mobile and low power consumption devices has always been "cram more into as little space (RAM/registers/storage) as possible".

And you have the Arduino etc movement which is doing exactly the same thing of cramming more into a limited computing power device.

Now if 64 bit low power computing is widely available, your fridge can now talk to you and perhaps tell your microwave to preheat stuff before your dinner......imagine Google Now on EVERYTHING.......

Yes, of course is good news, I prefer Qualcomm more than Exynos. Just can't wait local Malaysia launching and get one demo unit try to use. 25 September just 2 more weeks ahead!

that 8 cores combine the slow/fast quad together... so not really gain much not mentioning the power consumption when processing using 8 cores firing up... the S8 power saving method seem valid so qualcomm would be better choice... 

u are wrong... mostly all multiprocessing thread will be treat as single workload and firing up cores accordingly and dont think the android os will choose background process using slow cores and foreground program using fast cores... then the exynos cores switching seem facing difficulties currently and that's why they make all 8 cores mixable during load, mean they simply give up the selective cores switching altogether and sacrifice the power consumption... 

8 cores "in the coming months" if you read the articles carefully. 

Maybe they will have a 5425? Or 5520?

Exynos may probably beat Snapdragon in a multithreaded  benchmark like linpack but don't know how that translates to a real life experience.

S4 exynos has a borked core cluster controller. It can't perform granular switching.
