Off topic. The new iphone range has amazingly unbelievable great prices :
New iphone prices now released in Singapore. iPhone5C ( C by the way does not mean it is CHEAP) : S$848 , RM 2188 (16GB) and $988 , RM 2549 (32GB). The higher range iphone 5S prices are S$988 , RM 2549 (16GB), S$1,148 , RM 2961 (32GB) & S$1,288, RM 3323 (64GB). EXpect Malaysian prices to be 10% lower than these but is still darn expensive !!

OMG! means that the plastic iphone having similar price as the current, while the new 5S price has been marked up higher! a$$hole.. i become more and more disappointed with Apple..

Yet you will still see buyers queue up to buy it. It is after all an Apple! I have used all the iPhone series till ip5 n yet none of them ever impresses me. All this talk of smoothness is just an illusion as Apple knows once they allow widgets n 3rd party launcher interference they will lose their edge. I was so crazy that I paid rm1000 extra premium for the very first iphone.

5s pricing is probably high to recover the r&d costs for the 64 bit cpu but if you look at how intel prices their stuff, new architecture fits in at the same price points of the old architecture while they quickly deprecate the old one.

Maybe they think the faithful will open their mouths wider to swallow a longer register....

You talk about 64bit only for addressing yesterday.

64 bit architecture is not only for memory address.

iOS7 native code incorporate new 64 bit instruction set. Means, 1 instruction in 64 bit can do 2 things when using 32bit instruction. It will be faster I think. decoding will be faster because 1 clock cycle can decode 2 things. But executing might be same.
