Which model of S4 did you buy? I thought the 3G Exynos version did have some heat issues, though not to the extent of "overheat"

A lot of excitement as pre-order already open. smile.gif i'm gonna wait to test demo set before buying

is that galaxy gear worth that much? RM999.. fuhh..
*
I bought a Seiko Solar watch for the wife last year, was priced at RM700. Analog.

The Gear has got so much whizbang in it ....... I guess it's fine for such a device. Even a Casio G-Shock with so many buttons and dials is not cheap.

So this is a Samsung you know !!!! tongue.gif

Did you read the jewellery link I gave earlier?

$120,000 for a necklace. Bluetooth enabled as well. Serious bling.

Note 2 RRP, and even the non-SME price, was stable for nearly 3 months before any real drops happened, probably coz there were no phablets able to compete last year.

This year is a really interesting year. We could know after the first month.

Another perspective article on 64 bits

Sensational title to be sure. More page hits...... whistling.gif

Samsung will misguidedly release 64-bit SoC and Android, to combat iPhone 5S
http://www.extremetech.com/computing/16663...ombat-iphone-5s

.......As far as we can tell, judging by the limited info released by Apple, the A7 SoC is probably based on the Cortex-A57 core. Samsung, when it releases a 64-bit phone, will almost certainly use an Exynos SoC that uses the Cortex-A57 CPU core. This is all well and good, except for one thing: Cortex-A57, ARMv8, and 64-bit computing are essentially useless in mobile devices........

====================

I suppose we can say that SETI@Home will get a lot more horsepower if everyone's 64bit CPU contributes to the number crunching tongue.gif

Then again if your device becomes part of a zombie botnet for password cracking by criminals, 64bits will also help :lol

Found one interesting features of Note 3, not sure if it has been posted..heard that it appeared in Note 2 too

Basically you can draw a half circle on the screen to shrink the whole ui smaller and you can pan it around..

hmm.gif ok interesting, though I don't see a point or a use case. Maybe I'm thick.

I guess it will only work if you are using the stock launcher.

Note 3 is coming out Sept 20. Wow! Samsung really like this market giving us good timing availability together with worldwide release.

It seems that retail availability will only be on 25 Sep. This may only apply to SEP/Samsung Outlets, other sellers may make it available before the 25th.

No, every day, almost every post, I see grammar mistakes. I only correct the more egregious errors nowadays.

This is a technical spec, so I need to be pedantic about it since it will affect everyone.

Galaxy Gear is IP55 certified, but not publicized:

http://www.sammobile.com/2013/09/17/galaxy...-certification/

According to the designer of the Galaxy Gear, Pranav Mistry, Galaxy Gear comes with IP55 certification. This means that the Galaxy Gear could handle some dust and water, though it will be nowhere near Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Active, which sports IP67 certification. When we asked Samsung in Berlin whether the Galaxy Gear was water-resistant, we were told that it could “handle some water.” But it’s a feature Samsung won’t advertise as the company can’t guarantee just how much water-resistance the Gear will showcase.

IP stands for ‘Ingress Protection,.’ and an IP number is used to specify the environmental protection of enclosures around electronic equipment. These ratings are determined by specific tests. The IP number is composed of two numbers, the first referring to the protection against solid objects and the second against liquids. The higher the number, the better the protection.

First number
0 – No protection (Sometimes X)
1 – Protected against solid objects up to 50mm³
2 – Protected against solid objects up to 12mm³
3 – Protected against solid objects up to 2.5mm³
4 – Protected against solid objects up to 1mm³
5 – Protected against dust, limited ingress (no harmful deposit)
6 – Totally protected against dust

Second number
0 – No protection (Sometimes X)
1 – Protection against vertically falling drops of water (e.g. condensation)
2 – Protection against direct sprays of water up to 15 degrees from vertical
3 – Protection against direct sprays of water up to 60 degrees from vertical
4 – Protection against water sprayed from all directions – limited ingress permitted
5 – Protected against low pressure jets of water from all directions – limited ingress permitted
6 – Protected against low pressure jets of water, limited ingress permitted (e.g. ship deck)
7 – Protected against the effect of immersion between 15cm and 1m
8 – Protected against long periods of immersion under pressure

========================

Now, as I said earlier, there is a groove that fully encompasses the battery cavity AND sim slots on the Note3, with a corresponding ridge on the back panel. Does this also mean that Note 3 has some splash resistance but not publicized by Samsung too?
