No..err..what I mean is..once we link between the phone and Gear..can it work independently.  Or we need the phone near us to see msg or get a call.
Can we..let say..leave the phone in the office but can recrived a msg while we having lunch a miles away.?

Cannot qua... only the distance of the bluetooth i think

Wonder if phone in other room, you are in other room, can work or not. For example, your phone in the bedroom, you are in living room or kitchen.. If always need to be near, really no point of having it.. It's like, "oh somebody SMS me on the phone in my hands now, but I'm gonna check on my Galaxy gear on my wrist" seems like show off only

Well..I'm waiting for the real smartwatch then. Most probably that smartwatch need to use nano simcard inside it in order to receive call and data.

It's actually considered cheap with all those functions squeezed into a watch. I'm sure someone here owns some branded watch worth thousands which only shows time and date. Hehe

But the real watch can last long, so if compare the cost per duration of usage, there where it might more worth. Plus the real watch is a status symbol for some, like I said, its jewelry status

For me it's not about the price but the repetitive function. You still need to have both the watch and the phone nearby. Migh as well look the time at the phone screen..answer call and msg with the phone itself.
