Reporting about latest firmware .67 from ZL

Until now, Didnt notice the display flicking/vibrating yet.. hope SONY really fix it and dont appear anymore.. will report day to day within this week..

Performance: Home launcher really smooth, no lag. RAM available increase a bit (but not important). Camera doesnt improve in quality.. but improve in term of focusing, and show the real aperture should have.. good to capture near item/people face/macro like flower..

Battery: reduce battery life.. at least until now, im screen on time around 45minutes, but left only 68%. but maybe cause of xperia fb sync at background. (I'm clean format whole phone). My setting: Only Data, GPS,AutoSync turned on alwys. Others dont have.

Battery bug, i will report later. Previously, when phone battery left only below 40%, after turned off and on, phone battery indicate higher battery %. Hope SONY can fix it as what it claims.

Display: much correct white in background from default setting white balance.


POST 2 photos from indoor..

Touch focus does improve the focus area and show the aperture works (blurring the background). I simply capture on the mic and my iPad keyboard. I focus on mic and focus on "Enter Key" of keyboard.. Quality is still not so well in indoor.

for me, previously display alwys flickering/vibrating when phone is full charged and its appear until battery low than 50% like that.. sometimes not appear.. but after i update it, i didnt notice this vibratting on this morning until now.. so i need few more days to check see whether it still exist or not..

Hopefullyits really fixed as SONY claims

yes.. wrong white balance for keyboard there.. bad quality

not noticeable doesn't mean it doesn't flickering. I use auto brightness. mostly in high level brightness do easy to notice it. I need to observe in coming few days.

still didnt notice screen flickering after update to latest firmware.. how about u? i might needto observe it for more days.. but these 2 days still didnt notice it even 100% brightness..

2nd report for Xperia ZL .67 fw:

1. Camera indeed got some improvement, cant attach here due to file size around 2.6-2.8mb each.. File size bigger, (BUT all of these only when u are using scene mode). I capture and put into laptop and view it.. colour is nice.. can compete with my iPhone 5, but average with friend S4.. S4 will more sharpen in sometimes. but colour not so good.

Recommend u all using scene mode only. Landscape (normal any view), Handheld twilight (nighttime, will blurry easy can use landscape too), Gourmet (macro near object).

Normal mode, photo is around 2.00mb -2.2mb.. Colour iis natural as what we see, but not vivid as in scene mode landscape. Good when u focus on some spot only and blur the background..

try update ur phone.. might solve it.. coz me after update it, still didnt notice screen flickering again.

mine previously screen will normally flickering when charging was unplug.. will notice significantly.. until certain period, mostly below 50%, then no more flick/vibrate anymore.. almost every 2day or everyday.. at least now im update to latest firmwre, its really no more flicker/vibrate anymore.. but still under observation for coming days..

Sony claim to fix the display, battery, camera and improve performance..

Hopefully the display its mean is about screen flickering.. Hope everything become true as what sony claims.. temporary still ok with it

pcc won't wipe ur current data. but flashtool will. so depend on you.

even you are root. after update, then root will gone ady.

3rd day report about XZL .67 fw

1. Battery bug confirmed fixed.. After restart, battery remain as previous.. No more dramatic boost up ady.. Good news

2. Screen Display bug should be fixed.. No more flickering/vibrating, at least until now.. Good news

3. Home launcher really smooth compare to previous.. Not so frequent lag anymore.. sometime still lag caused by widgets like Gmail/Email/Photos. but still better than previous..

Overall, its good to update..

personally using 3 case for ZL.. 1 hard case.. 1 transparent case.. 1 nilkin flip case.. naked is the best feeling when hold it.

what colour u taking? can pm me the detail and condition..

1. battery bug fixed (battery % boost up 20-30% after restart the phone when phone battery below 50%).

2. Screen display bug fixed (display no more flickering/vibrating anymore, can noticeable very clearly when 100% brightness)

3. Home launcher smoother than previous.

4. Play Games apps is added.

Do u turn on HDR? if do, your hand cannot have little shake, coz it will cause blur output..

Other than that, all are depend on lighting condition.. If on daylight outdoor, output confirm good.. If indoor, normal+can notice some noise.. If lowlight, confirm no need say ady, sure bad quality..

Every camera even good DSLR at lowlight also need skill to capture nice photo.. coz even i using Olympus Stylus XZ-2, http://www.olympusimage.com.my/products/co...t/x_series/xz2/ also hardly to capture the photo at night with good output. Our phone camera sensor so small, no need do comparison anymore lo..

go to settings> accesibility> magnification gestures> turn it off.. probably u accidentally turn this on

for some older people to see the screen in larger magnified size.. hmm.. personally is not using la..

looks bad.. didnt use any cover?? i will takecare every phone of me very well..

wow its seems really bad then.. im using nilkin flip case too.. feel cover quite nice too.. i got other hard back case also almost cover like that.. but take care la next time.. make sure not put on leg.. but put in pocket or hold in hand

as long as ori set, then still within 1 year period (for sure), then service centre sure accept your set d.. if u worry, bring all the box and accessories to show..
