Found out the reason I'm not able to open BR joint account ATM card. The reason was that I applied for a joint SA & chose any of the parties listed as a joint owner of the account can do banking transactions.

Was informed that to enable me to apply for a joint ATM card, I need to choose the option of requiring all account owners' signatures for all banking transactions.

So, would like to ask both of you who BR joint ATM card holders, was I misinformed (again???!!!) or is it the same case with your account?
*
I m having joint saving account either to sign with one atm card issued in my name only. If not mistaken , the officer let me take back ths saving book for my missus signature..he..he..

How's the FD group nego coming along?

Anyway, I paid a visit to a supposed new BR branch. But instead was only an agent for BR, Koperasi Simpanan dan Kredit Bersatu.
They have their own deposit scheme (FD) & the interest rates do look Extremely attractive but they have so far only been in the market for 2 years. However, to fund the deposit scheme, they provide personal loans to government servants & practise the direct salary deduction via ANGKASA so should be pretty safe.

However, do take note that there is no monthly interest payout like BR.
Anyone had any experience or heard anything about them before?:

i asked the local BR , they are not very keen in offering higher rates. That also before i mention this is from many different persons. 0.05% above board rate no problem.

Are you willing to go for those stupid CASA thingy? OCBC has their 3-months promo but 50% must be put into CASA.

If you're looking for pure FD, then 3 months not many promo.
*
that's like insurance with savings plan
add too many stuff just to confuse you and get less % in the end.

i rather keep the money in ASM and AS1M
the reason i wanted to put in FD is because i would be withdrawing it soon
and PNB funds you lose out a lot if you withdraw prematurely.

hi guys, did not mean derail your thread but why do you guys like FD so much? i notice some of you all place for long term, 6 months - 2 years.

why not try PNB funds? such as AS1M? it is not PIDM guaranteed but it is far more secure than Bank Rakyat.

As per attached, it's called NID. Quite similar to FD. Minimum 100k placement. Rate can't nego much according to the branch manager. He say based on his experience, he could get 3.65% for 8m. rclxub.gif
